WARM SPRINGS, Ga - Joe Biden traveled to the hot springs town where Franklin Delano Roosevelt coped with polio on Tuesday to declare the U.S. is not too politically diseased to overcome its health and economic crises, pledging to be the unifying force who can restore our soul and save this country.
The Democratic presidential nominee offered his closing argument with Election Day just one week away while attempting to go on the political offensive in Georgia, which hasnt backed a Democrat for the White House since 1992. He has for months promised to be a president for all Americans regardless of party, even as anger and suspicion is growing and our wounds are getting deeper.
Has the heart of this nation turned to stone? I dont think so, Biden said. I refuse to believe it.
Even as Biden argued that the country could rise above politics, he went after his election rival, accusing Trump anew of bungling the federal response to the coronavirus pandemic that has seen new cases surging in many areas, and failing to manage the economic fallout or combat institutional racism and police brutality that have sparked widespread demonstrations.
The tragic truth of our time is that COVID has left a deep and lasting wound in this country, Biden said, scoffing at Trumps pronouncements that the nation is turning a corner on the pandemic. He charged that the president has shrugged. Hes swaggered. And hes surrendered.

Unity. That even includes the deplorable chumps.
I have no interest in unity with the left.
I want them destroyed.
We may see the Union split apart if Plugs get in...irreconcilable differences.
Joe hates me and calls me ugly names
Why would I vote for him ???
What does he mean he will work for me ??? He doesnt even care about or like me...
hes been working against me all this time..Biden/Obama messed over seniors and veterans for 8 years...
I don’t want to be unified with a commie puppet. Period.

The political disease is being spread by the Democrats. They and their media allies are the intolerant ones who viciously and relentless tried to remove and undermine a duly elected president. They are what's toxic about politics in America.
Biden claims ‘unity’ can ‘save this country’ but his advocate, one Barrack Obama, aka Zero the Apologist, was, at the same time, encouraging protests and calling people racists. Seems their platform has a few planks out of alignment.
In the meantime, Trump, who did save this country and is doing it again, brings with him crowds of tens of thousands at every rally, and tens of thousands at their own organic rallies, who are, at this moment, also saving this country by opening for business.
I don’t think either man can unify the country, even if they wanted to.
Biden plagiarizes easily.....all they have on the Left is fear and smear.
Make no mistake, they WILL come after we the ‘deplorables’ if they win.
“Unity” is a term the Democrat/Left loves to use because it plays well in focus groups. They don’t, of course, believe in it ... they believe in uncompromised singularity. Best to ignore what they say.
I agree. The demographics, culture and morality of the country have changed too much to ever again be the united country we once were. Too much tribalism now. And our oversized government makes things worse.
+1
Well said.
I LMAO at those who lament how Pres Trump brought divisiveness, animosity and bitterness to political discourse, as if there’s ever been a genuine modicum of decorum in politics to begin with. Trump didn’t bring it, he’s EXPOSING it and THANK G-D ALMIGHTY someone’s finally doing it!
I’m going to unify behind the commie, ultra-high tax, anti-oil, China-suck-up, weak on defense, baby killer?
Yeah, right. Sure.
Unity? The guy who cusses out voters for asking him questions he doesn’t like?
