Given a choice, I choose life, I choose active protection and upholding constitutional rights to be a Christian, speak freely, assemble freely, associate freely, right to self defense, and the right to be presumed innocent.
People say trump is boastful lacking in humility full of pride, narcissistic. No he’s not. He is fighting for our country against baby murderers. He knows who he is and what his strengths and weaknesses are. That is the definition of humility.
We’re fighting against people in this country who gain and keep power by killing the innocent.
My experience with his books is that there is generally about 25 pages of thought buried in 250 pages of sheer tedium.

What a stupid, insipid question, as if there ever has been a politician who isn’t vain or boastful?
Sometimes I think so called Christians have no sense of self preservation, just a limitless supply of other cheeks for the left and islamists to slap around.
He likely does see it and is bought off. No Christian “leader” can be this dumb.
John Piper is a crazy Calvinist. He should know that God has already ordained everything, including what crack in the sidewalk he will trip on. Gee, you would almost think that Piper thinks that man has some kind of free will or something. He must have flunked Calvinism 101 in school.
Question....Who should Christians vote for?
Answer: Since all have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God....we are ALWAYS choosing between the ‘lesser of two evils’.
ALWAYS.
President Trump is clearly the lesser of two evils in 2020.
The Democrats have given birth to a party platform that is measurably closer to aligning itself with the kingdom of hell. (abortion, same-sex marriage, gender identity....to name just a few.)
The Republican party has done the opposite and formed a party that is measurably closer to the Word of God.
Because of this, the choice (in our short lifetime) is made very easy.

John Piper’s essay was utterly inapt. He talked about policy and personal character. His thesis was bad character can be as harmful as bad policy. That whole argument misses the point. The President swears to uphold the Constitution. Pres. Trump largely has honored this oath. The Democrats plainly seek to subvert the Constitution. This is disqualifying for them.
Trump isn’t perfect, oh no!
That means it’s ok to vote for another candidate who supports killing babies.
Where does Mr Piper come up with this stuff?
He needs to read and pray about discernment.
In addition, he should read the parable about the 10 talents. As a US citizen, he has the ability to vote. Not voting is, in effect, burying his vote. He should review how that works out.

I seem to recall him being a believer in Replacement Theology as well.
I don’t ever listen to his videos or read his writings.
Piper is right and please don’t jump to conclusions. He never said don’t vote for President Trump nor did he even say that he is not voting for President Trump. Pride, power arrogance and self-idolatry are heinously offensive to God. Pray for President Trump to repent for his own sake and ours.
The 1st Herod was not struck down instantly for slaughtering the babies of Bethlehem or John the Baptist. The 2nd Herod was struck instantly for encouraging the people of Tyre to worship him and not giving God the glory.
It’s NOT a sin to vote for President Trump. It is a sin to put a level of faith, hope and trust in President Trump that belongs to God.
