One of the most prominent leaders in the faltering movement to overthrow President Maduro has secretly fled Venezuela. Leopoldo López, 49, Venezuela’s best-known political prisoner is no longer in the country, officials have confirmed.

His final destination was confirmed by Spanish authorities as Madrid, where his wife, their three children and his father, who is a member of the European parliament, reside.

The decision to leave Venezuela “has not been an easy one,” Mr López said on Twitter, while insisting he could continue efforts to oust President Maduro from exile.

“We will not rest, and we will continue working day and night to achieve the freedom that all Venezuelans deserve,” he claimed.

Mr López, a political prisoner since 2014 for spearheading anti-government protests, had been

After the US elections (and depending on the outcome) several major situations will enter a significant new phase - regime change in Venezuela, Iran and China; Mid-East peace, DC Swamp draining, etc.

He's running a Iraqi-Afghan-Venezuelan fusion restaurant with Ahmed Chalabi and Hamid Karzai.

Juan Guido is still serving in the Legislature, after his attempt to invalidate Maduro’s illegitimate election (and assume the Presidency himself in the interim), failed.

He has legislative immunity to prosecution. Due to political concerns and strong US Pressure, the Maduro regime has so far refrained from killing or arresting Juan Guido. But he is a brave man nonetheless, for the risk he has assumed, and is still under.

A Biden Presidency, could cost him his life.

Juan Guido was President Trump's guest at the 2019 State of the Union Address. Leopoldo López (who just escaped) was his mentor.

Won the Presidency? Guaido was never a candidate. So, how could he “win” the Presidency?

Failed coup by the USA.

Back in the 20th century, the people who lived on their yachts loved to go to Venezuela because it was so rich, so beautiful, and so sophisticated. That was before the Venezuelans decided to vote themselves into Marxism.

Partner, the far left liberal media in the USA will not say what is going on in Venezuela. We know that President Trump will win even though the DemonRat party is cheating big time.

We will finally get the D.C. Swamp drained.

Guaido the CIA trained, funded choice. Not sorry another USA coup has failed. The one in Bolivia has failed. Our decade in Syria has failed. Can we just stop already? And then there’s Afghanistan..

Please explain how these costly machinations by the US have helped Joe Everyday in this country, the USA.

BTW, where’s that 70 mil we gave to Guaido and his pals?

We didn't give it to them, they got it from Citgo

According to Rodriguez, the investigation was sparked by an alleged accounting fraud totaling $70 million. Rodriguez asserted the money, originally meant to cover PDVSA’s 2020 bond payment due in April, was stolen by Guaido’s representative in the US.

That representative they speak about appears to be: Former Exxon Lawyer and Venezuela opposition envoy to Washington, Carlos Vecchio.

Seems to me like you buy deeply into the leftists of the world, and the narrative they are peddling.

The allegations of theft on a mass scale came just a day after members of Guaidó’s inner circle were exposed for embezzling $125,000 in money intended for humanitarian aid, spending it on expensive hotels and luxury items in Colombia.

Just face it, Guaido and company were part of the criminally elite. Must’ve studied Biden and Clinton when he was being schooled by the Deep State.

CARACAS, Venezuela — (AP) — Venezuela’s Supreme Court, loyal to President Nicolás Maduro, on Tuesday ordered the takeover of two influential political parties opposed to the socialist government ahead of parliamentary elections expected this year. The court suspended and replaced the board of directors for the Justice First party a day after the same move against the Democratic Action, one of the nation’s oldest and largest parties. It was part of a “necessary restructuring process,” the court said in rulings posted on Facebook. No legal action was taken, however, against Popular Will, the party of opposition leader Juan Guaidó, who...
