Reminds me of that time oh say 10 years ago, when all the liberal pundits were holding a requeim for the GOP. The GOP was done then too apparently. Wasn't it good ole Snake Head who cheerfully predicted the Democrats were going to rule for the next 40 years? I do believe he even wrote a book about it.

Feels like the media's been writing "this is the final election the GOP will be relevant" for years now. And let's pretend Trump loses, they'll do it again, then be like "how is this happening?!" in 2022 when the Democrats get swept out of power in the House.
Excuse me if I don't take their concern trolling to be in good faith, considering their active shilling for the Democratic Party.

I dont get the impression the NYT is all that solvent these days.
The RP May last longer than it does.

Memo to the wishful thinking NY Times toilet paper outlet, reverse logic dictates that a Trump win ensures that the Democrat Party will die, as well, yes?

I wonder if they are just trying to scare the country-club RINOs who still think the NYT has relevance in order to get them to abandon Trump and Trump-ism.

Nominating an incoherent, meandering, China-blackmailed, basement-hiding candidate like Joe Biden will pretty much destroy the Democratic party.
Not to mention all the rioting, looting and arson committed by Democrat Storm Troopers.

One thing I realize with clarity now is that the Rats and their media chimps are all about projection. They accuse Trump of the corruption they have long committed, the division they cause, and now they project the true fate (death) of their favored party.

After the election Trump is going to have rats kissing his ass. Along with every Pub that has been again him. Trump is going to own em all.

Pretty much.
As far as I know, no one has ever won the presidency with a basement dwelling campaign approach.
Closest I can see was the 1900 campaign between McKinley and William Jennings Bryant.
McKinley just stayed at home, yes, while Bryant traveled all over the country and campaigned hard. Bryant still lost.
But, McKinley had a very dynamic Theodore Roosevelt as his VP candidate and Roosevelt campaigned vigorously all over the country for McKinley. Roosevelt was simply bubbling with energy and still young.
Plus McKinley himself held big rallies from the front porch of his house.
By contrast, both Hiden Biden and Kamala are nowhere to be found.
That kind of approach is simply not going to do it. Just TV ads never won an election for anybody.

I remember in the 70’s after Warergate and Carter’s election an article in Time magazine saying this same thing.
I was mid teens and remember thinking that’s sad. I took it on face value, being a kid.
They never write how the Democrats are dead.

“I remember in the 70s after Warergate and Carters election an article in Time magazine saying this same thing.”
Ironically, Lanny Davis, then called “Lanny J. Davis” wrote “The Emerging Democratic Majority” at the time of Watergate. A few short years later, Reagan was president.

They may be partly right, especially if the Rats run the table. It could end the party.
But if it’s the end of the Pubs, it was RINOs & gutless wonders who’ve strung us along and refused to exercise their majority powers when they had them. Donald Trump didn’t destroy the party - he’s been almost singlehandedly fighting to preserve it, as well as the country as we know and love it.

They were convinced that after they pushed Nixon out that they had insured total power for decades. They were convinced again after Obama was elected that the Republican party was dead. Trump being elected devastated them even more than Reagan. I really believe they will go to any length to grab permanent absolute power.
