Americans have been known to rebel over what may appear to be minor things. Like a tax on tea, a tax on documents (the ‘stamp’ act), confiscating guns, etc.

Yes, the Founders went to war over taxes on stamps, etc. Yet we do nothing when income is taxed at 50%. We have grown soft.
