Joe Biden committed the gaffe of telling the truth about his climate policies Thursday night when he said he wants to transition the U.S. from fossil fuels. The Democratic nominee is admitting that he plans to regulate the oil and gas business out of existence, and Americans soon to be transitioned may want to pay attention.
Would you close down the oil industry? asked President Trump during the debate.
Mr. Biden: By the way, I would transition from the oil industry, yes.
Mr. Trump: Oh, thats a big statement.
Mr. Biden: I will transition. It is a big statement. Because I would stop.
Moderator Kristen Welker: Why would you do that?
Mr. Biden: Because the oil industry pollutes, significantly.
The Biden campaign knew their man made a political mistake because after the debate he tried to backtrack by saying he had merely meant that hed eliminate subsidies for oil and gas. He also insisted he wont ban shale drilling, known as fracking, though in the primaries he had said he would.
But Mr. Biden was telling the truth during the debate, and his policy proposals clearly show he plans to strangle oil and gas. Behold the transition strategy.
The playbook is the one Barack Obama used to put coal on the road to ruin by relentlessly raising its cost. This included the Environmental Protection Agencys mercury rule and Clean Power Plan, which the Supreme Court blocked in 2015 and 2016. But by then it was too late, as coals share of power generation fell by a third and 40% of mining jobs were lost between 2009 and 2016.

Trigger, and SloJoe fell for it.
And a big fat carbon tax.
Biden also said that alternative forms of energy arent subsidized...
I was for it before I was against and then I was against it before I was for it, man.
Biden’s people know that he made a deal breaking gaffe with his response to Trump. And I think Welker accidentally asked one of the most powerful questions in all the debates. She was clearly surprised when she asked: “Why would you do that?”
That is how the Democrats have always sought to destroy Oil and Gas. They really have nothing against the industry other than they have never been able to control it (and thereby profiting by it), and it gives people Freedom of movement, which is just unacceptable to the American Oligarchs in the Democratic Party.
Yesterday on a return trip from Toledo for a funeral my wife and I got a chance to view the new Shell Oil Company Cracker Plant under construction along the Ohio River in Southwestern Pa. This plant is massive and will depend on the fracking of natural gas to enable plastic manufacturers to produce end products. Discontinuing the extrusion of natural gas via fracking would absolutely destroy plants of this magnitude.

They certainly do have something against the oil and gas industries, they’re ‘icky’, fossil fuels are dirty. The majority of democrats who live in the big cities think it’s a sign of virtue to oppose fossil fuels and back ‘clean energy’.
Chaz Bono is not amused.
Well of course. Their electricity comes from the light switch...
Yep. The exchange was possibly the highlight of the debate.
Fill up your gas tank. Thinking about pulling money from my TSA. Took me 25 years to save up that money he ain’t getting a penny over what is now required by the government.
Foes he have any idea how many products have an oil base in them?
Not just the highlight of debate but highlight of the entire election. That with Trumps comment, “ Remember that Texas, PA,...”
Meantime, he’s talking about 75,000 EV charging stations along the interstates. What to hell does he think is gonna provide the power for all of those? Certainly NOT wind/solar. These people are sick....and stupid. They’re libs and communists hellbent on destroying this nation.
Petroleum free Jiffy Lube greases his palms nicely, what more does he need to know.
