Yes...I like “Sun” as well, but have a little loyalty to RSBN, because they were covering these before anyone else was. It’s too bad about the “Licensing” issues. (I’m a songwriter, so I understand, but I think that The Trump Team’s License should cover RSBN’s Broadcasts as well)
I would think the same. RSBN is reporting an event. Is it the case with the major networks that they pay royalties so they can cover any event without legal consequence? Or is this a case of Alphabet/Google/YouTube singling out a small time conservative broadcaster?

I am not an expert in Licensing Law, but I think that your latter explanation is the correct one.
Even Aerobics studios have a “Blanket License” to cover the exercise music they play.
So I would expect the same for any News Venue.

In other words, they don’t license each individual song, but purchase a license from ASCAP or BMI and maintain a sort of “Venue Membership” to cover everything from Puccini to The Village People.
But, as I said, Music Law is a whole separate discipline than MUSIC itself. I took a course in it years ago, before the Internet existed the way it does now.
