Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) vowed Friday that the full Senate will vote to confirm Judge Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court “no later than Monday.”

Tweet Garrett Haake @GarrettHaake · 15h Over in your United States Senate, Democrats are trying to slow down the ACB confirmation process with a series of votes that are also effectively keeping all Senators in the chamber. First a vote to go to closed session, now Schumer calling for nom to be indefinitely suspended Garrett Haake @GarrettHaake · 15h McConnell has made it clear Judge Barrett will get a final vote "no later than Monday," and he has the votes to make that happen... just slowly.

McConnell’s remark came as Democrats protested Barrett’s imminent confirmation by forcing the Senate into rare closed session that lasted for roughly 15 minutes.

“I believe the Senate majority is on the precipice of making a colossal and historic mistake by rushing this nomination through the Senate only eight days before a national election,” Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) lamented. “Before we go any further, we should shut off the cameras, close the Senate and talk face-to-face about what this might mean for the country.”

Ironically, “no later than Monday” is also “no sooner than Monday” at this point.

Good... it gives all these senators a full week to campaign before election day.

If the shoe were on the other foot, the total-war party would not have spared a single scalp. The krats lust for so much naked power it makes the CCP blush.

What would Schumer have done were the roles reversed?

He’d have had no hearings, just the confirmation vote. Boom done. And everyone knows it.

Given Roberts tendency to support left of center opinions lately, this appointment will return the SCOTUS to a Conservative balance.

The big news here is that the Senate will actually be at work on a Monday!

Best thing Roberts can do is to resign now. We still have plenty of time to confirm another Justice before the end of the year.
But he won’t.
Expect this creep to wait until a Dem president for whenever he resigns.

Maybe. The two Trump Justices have already shown a tendency to pop off to the left and Barrett is perhaps not exactly what she’s cracked up to be.

Monday is Hillary’s Birthday. Perfect day to confirm Judge Barrett as RBG’s replacement.

"Monday is Hillary’s Birthday. Perfect day to confirm Judge Barrett as RBG’s replacement."

I suspect that is more Linsey than Mitch, either way it is brutally sardonic, Thug Life epic...

Why exclude the public from the process Chuck? Don’t they have a right to know? Make your sausages in public. This is another reason Trump was elected. Schmucks like Schumer say one thing in public and say/do other things in private. And if the truth were known and seen by the people, guys like Schumer would be marginalized and perhaps never voted in office again.

Roberts will probably resign as soon as all the “Lolita Express” info is made public.

All great and fine. But, I’ll bet Roberts won’t have time to swear her in until sometime after November 3rd.
