Donald Trump maintained a stake in Trump Tower when he became president, and with it, a financial connection to the Chinese government.
P resident Donald Trump, who declared I dont make money from China in Thursday nights presidential debate, has in fact collected millions of dollars from government-owned entities in China since he took office. Forbes estimates that at least $5.4 million has flowed into the presidents business from a lease agreement involving a state-owned bank in Trump Tower.
The Industrial and Commercial Bank of China signed a lease for space in 2008, years before the president took office, paying about $1.9 million in annual rent. Trump is well-aware of the deal. Ill show you the Industrial Bank of China, he told three Forbes journalists touring Trump Tower in 2015. I have the best tenants in the world in this building.

Like the Drudge Report, Forbes seems to have turned left, from my reading of it. Does Steve Forbes no longer run it?
Are we comparing China paying a legal rent to Trump Inc. with the Russian first lady slipping 350M into Hunter’s shirt pocket?
In the last campaign Trump said that China leased units in his building. This is not new.
So now being a tenant in a Trump property (public information since 2008!) is somehow corruption. Got it.
They’re all left except OANN and a few smaller outlets. Better in print than on air. 1.9 million a year is .001 of Trump’s estimated net worth. $158k a month. Probably not evn something that is noticed and definitely not equivalent to traveling to China and selling favors.
Brings out the Emoluments clause? I believe if that applied at all Pelosi et al would have used it over the past 3.5 years.
Forbes has been a consistent supporter of Trump, from what I remember. Why are they throwing out this red herring just before the election?
Always remember . ..there is no limit to leftist perfidy?..none.
But if Trump’s companies refused to rent to Chinese companies, that would be racist.
The Chinese paid the market price and got something of equal value. This is completely different from Biden-style bribery.
OMG! International businessman gets money from international business.
The Chinese were obviously buying political influence in 2008, knowing that Trump would have his one and only public office as president.
So in exchange for these funds the Chinese have access to a trump property in China.
What do the Chinese receive in exchange for funds given to hunter Biden ?
Forbes is literally owned by China.
They run this story.
China prefers Biden, their long term employee. Trump has no resorts or hotels in China.
Forbes is a Chinese business magazine.
US media criticizes President Trump for charging China rent...
Quick - Nancy, Chuckie, Adam Schifforbrains .... there's still plenty of time for yet another impeachment to go thru before Nov 3!
Didn’t Steve Forbes sell Forbes magazine to the Chinese a few years back only to be screwed by the Chinese who failed to pay him the balance of the money owed?
Wow, a commercial office building has commercial tenants who pay rent and use those offices to conduct businesses! Who knew?
If the deal was closed after Trump took office it would be a problem, but it happened seven years before he even declared his candidacy.
Geezis.....
Seems like the issue became a non-starter when a federal appeals court ordered an emoluments case dismissed against him due to profits from foreign entities staying in his hotels. He has a trust, which the family owns. Like I said, another smear story.

Since Trump has been harder on China than anyone I’d say if they were trying to influence him it just didn’t work.
Lease was up in 2019 (Playing devil’s advocate here). The Trump corp allowed them to maintain space.
