Convalescent plasma generated great enthusiasm in the earliest days of the coronavirus disease
The PLACID Trial was a rigorous randomized controlled study on a topic of enormous global importance
In prespecified, intention-to-treat analyses, the PLACID Trial investigators found no net benefit associated with convalescent plasma in patients admitted to hospital with moderate covid-19
there was no net clinical benefit to patients

The above by Fauci covers everything....August
Thanks for the link to the Senate hearing. I watched Dr. Kory’s presentation — wow, is he energetic and passionate. This hearing was back in May 2020. Here we are five months later and we still don’t seem to hear much about the MATH+ and EVMS critical care protocols. Dr. Kory said the protocols were sent to the White House four times and Sen. Ron Johnson said that he sent it to Mark Meadows. Yet they haven’t seem to have risen to the top of critical care for COVID.
I’ve seen several.
“. It’s curious that neither HCQ or Ivermectin is part of the MATH+ protocol”
HCQ is an ionophore, primarily a transport mechanism for zinc. Zinc prevents RNA virus replication, so presumably once the body is full of viral material, HCQ is not the focus.
The “plus” in MATH+ can include zinc and other components.
The “A” in MATH+ is IV ascorbic acid (an antiviral at high doses).
Dr Brownstein uses nebulized peroxide, saline or Lugol’s for those with heavy lung congestion...arguably “disinfecting” the lungs.
The answer as to why President Trump cannot openly promote integrative type therapies for treatment...Pharma would sink his re-election campaign, guaranteed.
Look for him to introduce this therapy once he is re-elected.
Understand that zinc + HCQ and MATH+ therapy could cost big Pharma BILLIONS in lost revenue...the case for vaccines is greatly reduced simply by treating ALL viral infections with MATH+ therapy.
Excellent insights. Thanks for pointing that out. Everything points to what you stated as being true, especially the behavior and statements of Fauci and Birx.
“I believe Fauci supported this 100%”
actually, he was quite opposed to it,and for very good reasons: plasma contains a massive number of other components besides just the covid antibodies, and thus has a MUCH larger likelihood of causing quite a few unpleasant and/or damaging side-effects compared to pure (semi-synthetic) covid monoclonal antibodies ...
“It was a good idea, but there is no way to make sense out of this trial since we do not know who got what in terms of neutralizing antibody.”
just as there would be no reasonable way to perform a quantitative assay of said antibodies on each and every unit of donated plasma ...
“but it may still make you immune.”
aside from an actual vaccine, pure, semi-synthetic covid monoclonal antibodies would be a WAY better way to go than plasma, which contains a massive number of other components besides covid antibodies ...
“Would whole blood have been better? As opposed to plasma, which has the platelets filtered out.”
that would likely be worse, way worse, because the last thing covid patients need are MORE platelets, because one of the common modes of death with covid is hypercoagulation ...
“I thought there were extremely few confirmed cases of a cured patient subsequently getting re-infected. Like a handful of confirmed cases.”
that’s actually true: only a handful out of millions of recoveries ...
“This would not occur in monoclonal antibody therapies like Regeneron that are manufactured and do not contain all the other proteins in natural human plasma.”
absolutely ... plus plasma has a very large number of other, non-covid components that can potentially cause all kinds of mischief ...
as far as i’m concerned, pure, semi-synthetic, standardized measures of monoclonal antibodies are going to be FAR safer and FAR more effective than whole, convalescent plasma obtained from random strangers ...
Understand that zinc + HCQ and MATH+ therapy could cost big Pharma BILLIONS in lost revenue...

Many thanks for the info!
#6. I love it when people with medical knowledge “talk dirty”.
Next time, please try good old street English for us laypeople. I’m having a hard enough time with my Ebonics lessons.
Two of my family members received this treatment as part of a study. 48 hour recovery. Both were not yet admitted to the hospital - but were on the verge of being admitted. It may be that if you are already hospitalized it is not effective.
I pretty much ignore any article telling us how something doesn’t work. More interested in those that show some promise - like Regeneron - and HCQ :-)
From the same bunch that implicated MMR vaccines in autism risk.
I’m not very enthused with any treatment in a hospital and wouldn’t want to trade a home for it.
