Here’s the other LIE IN THE DEBATE — FRACKING.
Biden, blatantly lied about his record on banning hydraulic fracturing, commonly known as “fracking.”
“I have never said I oppose fracking,” the Democrat insisted.
“You said it on tape,” Trump responded.
“Show the tape, put it on your website,” Biden said.
“I’ll put it on,” Trump said.
“The fact of the matter is he’s flat-out lying,” the Democrat insisted.
NBC News commentator Kristen Welker asked, “Would you rule out banning fracking?”
“I do rule out banning fracking,” Biden said. “What I will do with fracking over time is make sure we can capture the emissions from the fracking.”
Trump had to get the last word. “He was against fracking, he said it… until he got the nomination, went to Pennsylvania. But you know what, Pennsylvania, he’ll be against it very soon, because his party is totally against it.”
Biden attempted to claim that he only opposed fracking “on federal land.”
President Trump did not wait until Friday to post the video, however. He tweeted a video of both Biden and Harris promising to ban or “phase out” fracking and fossil fuels.

Here in New Mexico, Sleepy Joe’s words are a double whammy. It doesn’t matter how he defines fracking (”just on Federal lands”), it will kill oil and gas in New Mexico.
Most oil and gas in the state is located on federal land. In the oil shale rich counties in SE NM, the BLM (the Bureau of Land Management for easterners) controls mineral rights under the barren semi-arid surface mainly fit for cattle grazing. In NW NM, BLM manages minerals for both and Navajo and Apache Indians where natural gas reserves are extensive.
I don’t have the exact percentage of oil and gas lands that are under federal control, but it’s way in excess of 50-60 percent. So we take a big hit from a fracking ban no matter how Biden defines it.
For the past month those signs featured in my tag line are all over the NM oil patch.
