In fairness the talk to young blacks is a thing, I know blacks families and they did have that talk. My point is...I got the same talk that Biden described.
I was taught growing up that the police are not your friends. Yes, you call them in moments of trouble; yes, they will help you when you break down; yes, for the most part they are needed for a civilized society. But make no mistake - they are not your friend. Whenever I get pulled over by a police office my number one life rule goes into effect - anyone with a firearm is indistinguishable from God.
I never got the car/police talk because we never had a car. But, my father always told us to be respectful of police, and never do anything bad where we would end up losing our freedom. I can remember it like it was yesterday, and I'm 73 years old.
When I took the job of Corrections Officer with New York State, I told my two sons that if they ever got arrested, not to expect me to come visit them.
EXACTLY,we all got the talk, if your parents did not give you the talk they were pretty crappy parents.
Also did you hear his, “you better say yes sir and no sir when speaking to a cop or it might not end well for you.”
Hell, THAT is just having respect Biden. Seriously, is this guy for real?
