The Food and Drug Administration on Thursday approved Gilead Sciences antiviral drug remdesivir as a treatment for the coronavirus.
In May, the FDA granted the drug an emergency use authorization, allowing hospitals and doctors to use the drug on patients hospitalized with the disease even though the drug has not been formally approved by the agency. The intravenous drug has helped shorten the recovery time of some hospitalized Covid-19 patients. It was one of the drugs used to treat President Donald Trump, who tested positive for the virus earlier this month.

Gilead Science gets approval for their Remdisivir Treatment. That’s fantastic! Bravo! They are a California company so it will be enjoyable watching Governor Newsome deal with this....
Right after a number of doctors who have used it say that it is ineffective. It’s primary use seems to be to transfer lots of money to Gilead.
“Woot!! This is great news!! “
i don’t know why: study after study has shown it doesn’t do diddly squat ... our local hospital refuses to use it for that reason, namely it’s an insanely expensive treatment that doesn’t work ...
granted, the biggest (and newest) study is a W.H.O. study and that study pretty much claimed nothing worked, so is suspect, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they’re wrong about remdesivir, as even the most optimistic remdesivir study claimed that it only reduced the illness recovery time by less than a day ...

it’s just an Emergency Use Authorization, which means the FDA hasn’t fulled vetted it for efficacy, just that they don’t think it will kill people and that it MIGHT work ...
That doesn’t sound good. It sure seemed to help DJT or at least that is what I inferred.
It does seem covid-19 affects people differently which probably complicates treatment and attempts to come up with a one-size-fits-all. Thanks.
So in your medical opinion what drug[s] helped Pres. Trump beat Corvid so quickly?
trump himself REPEATEDLY credited the monoclonal antibodies from regeneron for curing him and never said squat about remdesivir ... furthermore, trump immediately launched a program to provide a million doses of monoclonal antibodies for FREE to those who need them, something that he did NOT do for remdesivir ...
Lol I switched it over to Regeneron the other day - now I can watch that tank.

It was emergency-use only in May. Now it has full approval. It’s all in the article.
I don’t buy any stock priced at above $6.
Trump received it.
I got a nasty infection of the Red China plague 6 weeks ago. For 4 days I got winded and very tired from simple household tasks such as showering and going up stairs. I improved markedly in a few days after being treated with Remdesivir plus a steroid. I will say though that I might have improved anyways. I’m still robust enough and have no chronic conditions.
Yes. there is no magic bullet so we use a combination of whats available. remdesivir, convalescent plasma, steroids, sometimes antibiotics. It depends on the patients presentation and course
because it has already been done for remdesivir
I was wondering where my vacation was!
I bought some Chembio stock several months ago when they were leading the pack on rapid test development. Then, the FDA sh!t-canned their test approval, so the stock tanked.
What about hydroxy?
I read he owns 50% of the patent.
Just ignore the idiots, and keep doing what you are doing. They have no clue how hard you work now or how hard you worked to get there. Thanks for doing that.
