Lincoln Project Appears To Have Helped Iranian Disinformation Effort Go Viral

The Lincoln Project, an anti-Trump political group, appears to have helped an Iranian disinformation effort go viral.

Federal authorities concluded that Iran was behind a string of threatening emails targeting Democratic voters in swing states, The Washington Post reported Wednesday. The email senders claimed to be members of the Proud Boys, a fringe right-wing group.

Director of National Intelligence Dan Ratcliffe confirmed the Iranian efforts during a press conference Wednesday evening.

Ratcliffe told reporters that “we have already seen Iran sending spoofed emails designed to intimidate voters, incite social unrest, and damage President Trump. You may have seen some reporting on this in the last 24 hours or you may have even been one of the recipients of those emails.”

The Lincoln Project helped the Iranian misinformation go viral on social media, garnering more than 12,000 retweets by amplifying the false claim that the Proud Boys were trying to intimidate Democratic voters.

“The Proud Boys are attempting to scare voters away from the polls. This is punishable by up to a year in jail and a blatant attempt to prevent people from voting. Let’s find them and make them famous,” the Lincoln Project tweet said.

The political group, which was founded by anti-Trump Republican consultants, deleted the tweet Wednesday night.

Who to believe? All the disinformation is misleading me into believing stuff that isn’t true and keeping me from seeing the actual truth. Not to mention that I can’t tell the difference between information and disinformation. So I am really confused. It is exactly like the fake news from 2016. There was real news and there was fake news and I was so confused that I didn’t know how to tell the difference. I think there is something familiar about the disinformation angle but it escapes me because I am so confused.

I am sure the ‘moderator’ will pull the plug on the President, when he gets too close to home with his statements about Hunter, etc.

If voters see that happen, it should hurt the left. But that would assume:

- The media won't censor and gaslight

- Voters are smart enough to underatand what happened

So what we are seeing is that the NeverTrumpers and establishment Republicans are actually using foreign money help to try and rig a presidential election against the Republican candidate. And in 2024 I am supposed to drop to my knees and beg these aholes to forgive us and save us from the Democrats or be accused of being disloyal(some on Freerepublic will kiss the butts of these turds still and demand blind obedience). It will be a cold day in hell before I vote for these traitors ever.

I'm not sure what you are talking about, since this group is working to defeat Susan Collins, Lindsey Graham, Thom Tillis, Mitch McConnell, Joni Ernst, Corey Gardner, and others in addition to President Trump.
