Even the US reporting on COVID-19 Wuhan virus in this country is badly skewed. People are quick to point the number of deaths attributed to the China virus, but actually this should be divided into two different columns. One column for those who died WITH the COVID-19 virus, and a second column for those who died SOLELY because of the COVID-19 virus.
Management of the progression of the disease is much more sophisticated now than it was in March 2020. For one thing, testing for both the initial infection with the virus, and testing for the antibodies in the blood serum is much more widespread and accurate than some early diagnosis techniques. And a number of preventative measures are now in place, not just masks and social distancing. Increasing intake of ionic zinc together with biological agents that make the virus particle susceptible to absorption of those zinc ions, stops the replication of the virus particles dead in its tracks.
Masks are, for the most part, purely a psychological crutch, as perhaps 70% of all new cases of the virus infection are of people who wear masks regularly. Once a few of the virus particles get through the face mask, it acts as an incubator, allowing the first few particles to be breathed and rebreathed over the course of a full day of continuous mask wearing. The perceived preventive measure becomes the instrument of infection.
Not for everybody, of course. Used in moderation and only under the more compelling of conditions, when social distancing is not an option, or there is a known victim of the infection in the immediate area, then masks, either replaced at relatively frequent intervals or of known antiviral properties, serve their purpose well.

Every hospital, every community, every state’s Emergency Management team had a pandemic plan.
I guarantee you that 90% of the people in charge did not know where they were. And 90% of those who knew where they were, pulled them down and realized they hadn’t been updated since 2009.
So, Obama isn’t lying outright. But if he thinks the State, Local, or Federal Govt was prepared for anything like this are kidding themselves.
The states are in charge of EM. The Feds act as suppliers and facilitators. The States are supposed to run emergencies. Why this isn’t more widely understood is a mystery to me—because it reflects how well the Feds ARE doing, and how shitty the States have done.
Nursing homes are run under state rules. Trump should have zero responsibility for anything that happened in them.
The Republican messaging on this entire COVID issue has been horrifying from the start.
