This is the humor article of the day :)
“And despite Mississippi having the largest percentage of Black people of any state in the nation, a Jim Crow-era election law has ensured a Black person hasnt been elected to statewide office in 130 years.”
Well, you can thank the Democrats a great deal for that sort of situation, since Jim Crow was their creation through and through.
And lemme guess...every last one of them is Trump’s fault!
And yet blacks continue to embrace the Democrat Party. Theyre only now starting to see the light and walk away.
So, the Associated Press says black people are not as capable as white people when it comes to vote.
PROOF that the AP is a racist organization supporting the Democratic Party and Joe Biden.
Boooooo Effin hooooo
The people with the biggest problem with ID laws are the elderly who can't drive anymore. I'm going to have to figure out what to do with my Dad when his driver's license expires early next year.
> voters face obstacles such as state-mandated ID laws that mostly affect poor and minority communities
So, Tim Sullivan, youre saying blacks people are too stupid to manage to get a proper ID, which you need to do damn near anything in modern life?
Seems racist to me.
Ami Horowitz: How white liberals really view black voters
Ami on the Street: Are voter ID laws racist and suppress the black vote? Satirist Ami Horowtiz goes to UC Berkeley and Harlem to find out
81% of blacks registered and 69% turnout but the barriers to voting are just too damn high!
Mississippi probably has a higher percentage of blacks holding local elected offices than any other state. The position that IDs hinder blacks from voting is a worn out race card. Those same blacks need some form of picture ID to apply for most of the “entitlements” they enjoy and it doesn’t seem to hinder them in this area.
Laughable BS. Poor people cant get IDs? Black people cant get IDs?
That is of course, a RACIST assumption. A majority of Black people favor voter ID laws. This is a prime example of the MSMs constant lies and bias.
No I.D. Well, go get one.
I don't have a car. You had four years to bum a ride to get an I.D. You're also planning to use this same excuse four years from now, aren't you?
I'm a convicted felon. In that case, TS.
I don't feel like voting. They all suck. But that's not physically stopping you from voting. Did we change the subject of the article at some point?
There's no one to vote for that looks like me. Man, now, if I said that I can certainly imagine what the author would say about me. But anyway, if you refuse to vote why should anyone you'd elect run for office?
This whole article talks about stuff that happened 50+ years ago and acts like nothing has changed. I'm sorry but no that's BS. I've spent my entire life in the deep South and there's always been black people voting whenever I've gone. And not once has anyone tried to push them out of the polling place with dogs and fire hoses. Anyone who's not voting now has stopped themselves from voting.
And then people like this author come along and treat them like children who can't possibly do for themselves and isn't it just awful what happened to those three young men back in 1964? THAT WAS 56 YEARS AGO! How is that preventing anyone from voting now? It should make people even more determined to vote!
Some people don't really want to vote, they just want to whine and make excuses.
Does this reporter not know that the Jim Crow-era was the Democrat era? The Democrats were relevant in Mississippi and the South by repressing Republicans and blacks in particular. Prior to that, blacks and the non-racist whites (of which there were many even during the time of the Civil War) which were a majority and voted in Republican governments in the South. The KKK and other Dem organizations helped put a stop to that restore Democrat relevance and dominance.
More lies.
Then black folks find it harder to buy booze or an airplane ticket too?
To say so is racist.
Just an aside: Did you know that Condoleeza Rices parents were/are registered Republicans? They registered as Republicans because back in the day, after Blacks had gained the right to register, the Democrats wouldnt register them. Im sure that guided Rices own politics. She is very quiet these days, but I appreciated her being in politics decade ago.
