The pandemic is accelerating as the United States climbs the third peak of Covid-19 infections that public health experts have been warning about, the latest NBC News analysis revealed Wednesday.
In the last two weeks, the 781,142 confirmed cases of coronavirus reported nationwide was an 18.5 percent jump over the previous two weeks, the figures showed.
And in four of the last seven days there were more than 60,000 cases reported -- something that has not happened since the end of July.

And what is a “confirmed case”? Is it new? Is it antibody test or the other? Is the definition and formula for determining the value the same across all states. I honestly doubt it. I think hospitalizations and death are the only numbers even semi reliable IF they would report honestly (which they arent). My last project for fed gov was reengineering big data and it took 4 years for a big SSA database. You have to normalize (standardize) data values and meaning before you can ever combine and calculate with them

Regardless, USA testing for COVID in 2020 has been the most comprehensive national testing in world history.

In August when the death numbers were 180000 or so the cdc said that 9000 of those were directly from Covid and the rest occurred in covid patients with an average of 2.6 co-morbidities or “2 to 3” in other words.
We’ve been seeing hospitalizations where I work where the patients came in with covid like syndromes but they never test positive but they have all the characteristics.
Still the doctors think it might be covid because many of the patients’ families recently had some positive tests.
These patients however have some bad co-morbidities so the thinking is that the virus might have been in their systems but was fought off but their co-morbidities were aggravated(usually lung issues, cardiac, diabetes, or damage related to past heavy drug use). They get bacterial pneumonias and further sepsis with kidney damage and then they just go on to spiral out of existence.
Great info. I think that is what will be seen this winter. As normal cold and flu preoccupy the immune system previously kept-at-bay conditions like Covid will take advantage of lowered immune response.

On Fox the other day, they were interviewing a Doctor who said that the incidences of Flu this season has dropped dramatically since the coronavirus struck. He was musing about the possible correlation of the virus vs. the flu, and if the presence of the virus was somehow superseding the presence of the flu. T’is an interesting phenomenon, and I wonder why if true.
More likely it is self isolation, improved cleanliness in many areas and more people taking vitamins(vd3).
Pneumonia is a direct symptom of COVID?
What percentage of COVID cases include pneumonia? I'll take the easy side of that question, Alex - at least 90% do NOT have the pneumonia symptom.
Compare that to common colds and influenza, which precede 50% of pneumonia cases during during flu season.
Perhaps you meant to say that pneumonitis is a symptom of COVID? Influenza and common colds also cause pneumonitis.

Or - it means the USA still has no standard number of cycles for COVID PCR tests. Last I heard, USA PCR tests were using between 7 and 44 cycles.

There are three different units inside CDC and NIH that compile (or model) statistics on infectious respiratory diseases. Only one of those units combines pneumonia and influenza deaths.
Have you studied a CDC death certificate? I can send you the CDC link if you have not. There is one, and only one, Underlying Cause of Death (UCD) on each death certificate.
The CDC has publicly instructed doctors to ALWAYS classify COVID as the UCD when pneumonia or ARDS are co-morbidities.
I can send you the CDC link for that instruction if you want to read it.

I assume the 3.25% “flu only” statistic is for completely healthy people who die with zero co-morbidities?
That sounds a lot like COVID to me. According to the CDC, just 6% of COVID death certificates have no co-morbidities.
Not hard to understand why. Here in Washington state, COVID has killed no one under age 20. Nationally, COVID kills just 2 out of 10,000 victims age 20-50.

2nd wave...panicking...and no one is dying from the flu...in fact, cases of the flu are non-existent...

It’s not something I could easily prove, but I have suspected from an early stage that this COVID-19 was designed to make ordinary coronavirus look like a killer pandemic, by accelerating co-morbidities and being very easy to spread around the population. And the reason it was designed in the first place was not directly aimed at Trump (why a global pandemic to overturn an American president?) but it was to force action that the “climate emergency” had failed to generate from the political process.
This is not my thought process, but that of the designers (one might say patrons) of COVID-19. Slow the economy to a crawl, especially long distance travel and airline activity, and perhaps the climate emergency could be overcome. If the virus just stops looking like a real problem (and it is quite close to that stage now) then try to morph openly from the pandemic lockdown to a climate emergency lockdown.

This is actually something you can read all over the progressive side of the internet. It is quite widely believed and I suspect many on the left have sort of figured out what’s actually going on, but since they approve (end justifies the means) they go along, no harm done in their opinions.
Does the president realize this is happening? Would his intel resources figure it out or tell him if they did figure it out? The problem is, this is one man’s treason but another man’s selfless act to save humanity.
What I wonder is this — how long will it be before this scenario is more generally understood and what will be the political response to it? Because basically, the pandemic as a stealth response to climate emergency is the usurpation of responsible government by elites acting without any consultation or any mandate from anybody. They have wrecked the economy just to see if it will change the average temperature, if it doesn’t, they will just pretend they were never involved, if it does, they might get cocky and claim success and ask to be highly respected, perhaps even worshipped, for their brilliance.
Where have we heard about such a thing? Right. There.

Yeah they tried that little sleight of hand months ago. Deaths are actually quite low in red states we want to excoriate? Well then we’ll just pivot to talking about cases!
