KAUFMAN, Texas — Early voting numbers in Kaufman County are up 33% in the first week of early voting compared to four years ago according to election officials.

19,688 voters have shown up in person at six polling locations officials say, compared to 14,836 who showed up during the first week in 2016.

The Forney sub courthouse has led with the greatest number of voters each day with 5,486 voting during the first week. New early voting polling locations at Forney ISD Administration building and Trinity Family Church in Talty have welcomed over 4,800 voters combined.

The county has also received a substantial amount of mail in ballots returned and those not wanting to take any chances, have shown up in person with their mail in ballots.

According to county election officials 4,029 ballots were requested and mailed out.

According to elections officials statewide, more absentee voters are showing up in person to ensure that their vote is counted, rather than depend on the mail.

“Statewide we are seeing evidence that many voters don’t want to chance their ballots getting lost in the mail and have decided to show up in person,” says Kaufman county-based election attorney, Elizabeth Alvarez.

“It is totally up to the voter, up until election day, to choose to vote in person if they want to, even if they have already requested a ballot by mail.” Alvarez says. “However, it is extremely important that voters understand that they will not be permitted to cast a regular ballot in person if they have not cancelled their ballot by mail, unless they bring it with them and turn into the judge or clerk at the polling location...

I’ve been to Kaufman. I didn’t think there were 20,000 people in the entire county. A couple great places to eat, though.

HOUSTON — Turnout for early voting in Harris County is on pace to surpass that of the entire 2016 election.

Seven days into the early voting period in Texas, nearly 720,000 voters in Harris County cast their ballot in person or by mail through Monday.

That figure represents 52% of the 2016 total turnout and 73% of the 2016 early voting turnout.

...After the first week of early voting, 29% of registered Harris County voters had already cast their ballot.

If Houston has any collective brains they will toss out Kim Ogg SorosDA. She’s got blood on her hands.

This is where there was massive voter fraud with drive thru voting and they were using fraudulent drivers licenses from China. Dallas Jones Bidens Texas campaign guy was implicated in this. I dont’ know what happened to the ballots I assume they were mixed in and counted already.

Ken Paxton is aware of this but I dont know what is going to happen with the case.

2016:

Harris County — the biggest battleground in ruby red Texas with a population larger than 25 other states — turned solidly blue on Tuesday with the largest presidential margin of victory in more than a decade.

.

About 17 percent of in-person early voters in Harris County had a Hispanic-sounding surname — up from 11 percent in 2012, according to Hector de Leon, director of communications and voter outreach for the county clerk.

During the last open presidential election in 2008, 39 percent of Harris County’s then 3.9 million residents were Hispanic, according to census estimates, compared to 36 percent who were white.

Census estimates for 2016 aren’t available, but state demographer projections indicate that Harris County’s share of white residents would fall to 28.5 percent this year, while the Hispanic population would increase to 44.7 percent, with more than half of the Hispanic population of voting age.

I Dispute the claim that Harris county was only 28% white in 2016. It was over 56% in 2010

Not much there. Most of SE of Dallas is your ghetto white areas. Plenty of meth houses out that ways.

I’d been to Kaufman itself, and didn’t realize the county reaches all the way to the lake and has a piece of the Dallas suburbs.

Still, 20,000 votes two weeks ahead of the election is massive for a county of 100,000.
