I was mocking the false narrative of the news article - the Democrats refusing to attend a meeting of a committee for which they have membership is what makes a mockery of the rules, not Graham holding a meeting.

If the Democrats refuse to show up they can vote to suspend the rules and pass by majority vote of the committee - and the Republicans have the votes for that.

This is the same thing they pulled with Mnunichin’s confirmation vote to report it out of the committee. The Republicans voted to suspend the rules and pass.

There is no Jeff Flake to screw up votes on the committee like he did with Justice Kavanaugh.
Thank the lord for that.

Just respond with 4 day recess and allow Potus to recess appoint Rush Limbaugh’s brother to help Roberts make better decisions from now until ACB is sworn in.

The Democrats are not winning the Senate. They can’t pack no Court.

Nope.
ACB will be sworn in on the 26th, with or without the Democrats.

And Mitch is doing it on Hillary’s birthday!

She won't notice; she'll be busy celebrating with her girls

The committee hearings and vote are not requirements. Just niceties. Go to the floor vote directly.

Senate Rule XXVI.7(a)(3)

Once again. All that is required by this rule is the majority of members present.

Once again. Senate judiciary committee rule I (3). To conduct business 9 members including 2 of the minority.

The 2 of the minority would be rats

Read today’s NYPost. Schumer is quoted saying they will not give them a quorum which requires opposing party be present.

So they change the rules. Amy is out of committee. 50 votes plus Pence is needed.

The committee vote is nothing but a formality and is only done under Senate rules. There is no reference to a “Judiciary Committee” in the Constitution.

Technically it is in the Constitution, just not explicitly. It's more than just a formality: Article I, Section 5.

Each House may determine the Rules of its Proceedings,

LOL!

Apparently, Democrats are not needed (!!!!) for a committee vote: 12 - 0 was the count.

Democrats can be a “no-show” forever, AFAIAC!
