The S&P 500 gained 0.5% on Tuesday, although it was up as much as 1.5% ahead of a stimulus meeting between House Speaker Pelosi and Treasury Secretary Mnuchin. The Nasdaq Composite increased 0.3%, the Dow Jones Industrial Average increased 0.4%, and the Russell 2000 increased 0.3%.
Yesterday reports suggested a stimulus deal wasn't looking imminent, but comments from the House Speaker after Monday's close provided the market hope that both sides would get something done soon. Senate Majority Leader McConnell said he would bring a presidentially supported bill to the floor if it passes the House but reportedly wants a deal after the election.
Ms. Pelosi and Mr. Mnuchin were still negotiating at market's close, which may have caused some hedging activity for any disappointment. Nevertheless, ten of the 11 S&P 500 sectors still closed higher, led by the energy (+1.2%), financials (+0.8%), and communication services (+0.8%) sectors, while the consumer staples sector (-0.1%) closed lower.

Wow! These experts are so good. They know exactly the market is going to do did.
Here's the template folks:
The S&P 500 (gained/lost) n.n% on [day] after it was (up/down) as n.n% (ahead/after) [event].
Most of this is complete BS. It means nothing.
However, the maskless hair dye job she got that was so heavily publicized seem to have been very good
The tapes were released because she left such a puny tip
That's impossible, the Botox has permanently locked her eyes in the open position.
NOt particularly encouraging to see the Stock Market panting after this Stimulus business.
Todays rally could easily evaporate Tomorrow and maybe worse
Stay nimble
The very day that bitch Pelosi drops dead, the market will set its course to the moon.
What a great celebration and glorious day that will be.
Stimulus money and vaccines... that seems to be what it’s boiling down to now.
went to cash on friday. Locked in my profits for the year. might do some bond funds to catch year end dividends.
Yup, yup, and most especially, yup.
I have been so proud of Trump but his comment concerning potentially exceeding Pelosi’s 2.2 trillion stimulus package is to say the least disconcerting.
Personally, I'd like to see Adam Schiff dance the Tyburn Jig to see if his eyes would bug out further.
Somebody gave Nancy a couple of extra Dove Bars and she went into a sugar high, stated laughing and said “Tell Trump I’m on board. Let the people have their money. What do I care?”
Never heard of it but I like the imagery a lot.
For others like me to learn this.....
Tyburn Jig. — Tyburn was a place in England where execution-by-hanging took place. When hung high (about 30ft), the feet would start kicking resembling a dance (jig).
Whatever the stock market does, I sell options secured by my stock, and when those expire or are cheap enough to buy back, I sell more, and almost never cash in the stock. It’s slow but sure for a small-time investor.
They also try to guess why the stock market did what it did, and when it does the opposite, they try to guess that, too.
2 Trillion would be tough sledding in the Senate I think.
Just like when a house fell on one sister, and someone threw a bucket of water on the other and she melted. But nobody celebrated the death of the fourth sister, Helen Thomas. I wrote an ode and posted it on freep. But really she didn’t get a proper send-off.
Trump’s counting on that. He’s...heh heh...out-virtue-signalling Nancy with no practical consequences whatever.
Shuuush!...lol....someones getting paid alot of money for that information.....
I think I may start a business doing that for alot less money!....I'm gonna go out on a limb here and predict that the market could go up or down tomorrow.....DEPENDING on the news of course...
BUT...If you'd like to get in on the ground floor....send me a $100 dollars and I will tell you weeks in advance, the DJIA High of 29,100.50 on 2 Sept 2020 will not be surpassed by 3 Nov 2020.....Take it to the bank!!!!
