Maricopa County Recorder Adrian Fontes wants a court to bless the practice he is using that allows some people to cast a ballot by video conference. In a lawsuit filed Friday, Fontes said state law provides for “special election boards” composed of one Republican and one Democrat to assist voters who are confined because of illness or disability.
But Fontes said the COVID-19 outbreak and public health restrictions may keep board members from entering these facilities. So he has developed — and used in the August primary — a system that uses video technology. “Unfortunately, Gov. Doug Ducey has taken the erroneous position that providing this common-sense assistance to severely disabled voters violates Arizona law and must be suspended immediately,” attorney Mary O’Grady wrote for Fontes. And she noted that the Attorney General’s Office has expressed concerns so Fontes wants a judge to declare that what he’s doing is legal. The ruling will affect more than just Maricopa County. Secretary of State Katie Hobbs already has provided “guidance” to election officials in all 15 counties telling them that she, too, finds the practice to be legal.
The solution, Fontes said, was the option for a video meeting, but only if the person is physically incapable of marking a ballot and there is restricted access. It also involves showing the voter the ballot as voted. Hobbs followed suit, issuing recommendations for how other counties can do the same thing. All that blew up on Monday when Ducey wrote to Hobbs, accusing her of facilitating the violation of state laws and directing “these policy changes should be suspended immediately.” Hobbs disagreed, and Ducey then sought intervention by Attorney General Mark Brnovich. Fontes decided to short-circuit all of that and take the case directly to a judge.

And I’m not surprised to see Fontes do an end run around Brnovich and find a Leftist judge that would rule for Fontes.

AAAAnnnndddd of course, a judge appointed by Obama, ruled on Oct 6 that Fontes could do anything he wanted to do.
Can we just make JUDGE SHOPPING ILLEGAL?? The Left can get anything they want when they get a Dem appointed judge. I sure wish ALL Judges ruled by law, not by ideology

Exactly. And the Atty General wasn’t even consulted as he is a Republican. Obama’s Judiciary appointments will let Dems do anything they want.
I suspect that AZ For Dems is a done deal this Nov 3rd.

You’d think. But the ballot harvesting in AZ (Totally illegal) in 2018, gave the Senate spot to Sinema and too many House seats to the Dems. Ballot harvesting is STILL ILLEGAL here, but they will have figured out a way to cheat again, I’m sure.
A legal and fair vote in AZ would have given many Republicans their seats, but cheating is a hallmark of the Left. And remember it is he who counts the votes.
I know. That’s the real wild card this year, like no other.
Fontes is up for re-election this year as he was on my ballot and I did NOT vote for him.
Me neither. But HE is the one who has control of the vote counting. And Richer hasn’t had ANY ads that I have seen, or even many signs up.

Time has not been kind to Cindy McCain. Perhaps she can well identify with Jill. I mean, both women met their ‘husbands’ while the men were married to other women. Joe’s wife drove in front of a pickup truck and died, just a few months after Jill met Joe. McCain’s wife had been in an accident while he was a POW. She was no longer as attractive as she had been.
Joe and John were both conscienceless. Both second wives will eventually join their husbands after death. And I don’t mean in heaven.
I didn’t realize that it was a few weeks after Joe met Jill that Joe’s wife died in that accident. Makes you wonder.....

I have no respect when someone steps out of a marriage. It is devastating to the spouse and children.
A few months. According to Jill’s Ex, he and Jill met the Bidens in the summer, when they were working on his campaign. The first Mrs Biden was killed in a car accident that following December. She drove across the midline and was hit by a truck. Joe spent the years since claiming that the other driver was impaired. That was a complete lie.
As I said, conscienceless. And Joe and Jill have been lying about the year they actually met, too. Both are disgusting.
November is going to be the “mother of all disasters” regarding the election.
Those who are invalids have voted when they wished to do so by getting an ABSENTEE ballot.
NOW-—ALL the voters in Nevada got ABSENTEE ballots-—even when we didn’t request them.

But it will go forth thanks to an Obama judge who is an advocate for his ideology, not a judge who follows LAW.
I heard on the radio, in between Rush’s commentary, that Arizona is allowed to start counting ballots TODAY. So, with 2 weeks to count the early ballots, the Leftists who are counting the ballots here will be pretty sure how many phony ballots they need to inject into the count.
WHATEVER HAPPENED TO ONE DAY FOR VOTING???
