The entire Gore/Bush mess in 2000 was created by Tom Brokaw, who called the election early (for Gore?), forgetting the two time zones, after which thousands in the panhandle did not go to the polls. No forgetting was involved. All the media outlets were reminded in advance by the SoS's office that Florida has two time zones.
