By the way, I hate how Zoom turns on your microphone and video camera, by default. You can change the default in your Zoom settings to turn off your video and mute your microphone whenever you join a meeting. OTOH, unless I know for a certainty otherwise, I always assume that the camera and mic are on.
When I had to start participating in Zoom conferences I bought a camera/microphone that plugs into a USB port in the front of my PC. Whenever I am not using it I unplug it.
