Another way to look at it is the Dems believe the polls (that they’re a gazillion points ahead) and see no need to expose themselves to risk of losing some of that lead - whether it’s tough questions about the info on the laptop or anything else.
It’s just like being ahead by several touch-downs in a football game. Do you have your QB out there slinging the ball all over the place (thereby risking an interception and letting your opponent back in the game), or do you do a bunch of hand-offs to your running back and take all sorts of time after he goes a yard or two to get back to the line of scrimmage for the next play?
I also suspect Biden is most probably spending the bulk of the time on debate prep - something DJT would be wise to also be doing more of. It’s not enough to just repeat his “rally mode” talking points at a debate. Totally different audience, and preparing for that different audience (which I really don’t think he did last time) would be wise, IMHO..with his rally schedule, not sure when he is going to have any time to do that..and if he goes in to the next debate without a good amount of traditional prep, we’re likely to have a repeat of the first..and that wouldn’t be good beyond just further riling up his base.
“I also suspect Biden is most probably spending the bulk of the time on debate prep - something DJT would be wise to also be doing more of[sic]...”
Not necessarily. Some people respond well to a good deal of “prep” some do not. I believe Trump knows the issues and does better being spontaneous and off the cuff. He comes across as more “human”.
"debate prep" yeah...LOL
