Here are the takeaways from this morning's early voting report from the NC State Board of Elections:
1) Republicans cut about 1.5 points from the Democrats lead in VBM/early in-person voting.
2) Votes cast: 665K/355K/408K (D/R/U registered voters)
3) Democrats have cast 310,000 more votes than Rs, but..
4) In 2016, Democrats cast--get this--exactly 310,000 more votes than Republicans in the entire early voting period, i.e., the exact same spread as today. In 2016, at the close of EV, Dems led Rs 1.3 million to 1 million VBM/EV cast.
5) Republicans have won 3 straight days of early voting so far, and are the odds-on favorite to win most (if not all) of the remaining in-person EV days, as Dem-heavy mail-in ballots are slowing down to a trickle.
6) Caveat: Black voters have turned out in the first 3 days of in-person EV in large numbers (especially Day One). The good news is that Rs still out-performed Ds on all three days, which means that white Democrats cannibalized their in-person votes by voting via mail. Black voters may be "front-loaded" in in-person EV through voter drives, but we will need 3 or 4 more days of data to confirm this.
7) Conclusion: Calm down about NC. We are in good shape. This state ALWAYS looks bad for Rs at the beginning. (continued)
It’s too bad I couldn’t get traction with anyone on my Harry Reid corruption book. I was working with the DA in Salt Lake as a whistleblower on four different bribes he had there. As well as links to Podesta and alt energy money laundering.
We had Podesta and Reid in bed with Marc Elias, their mutual lawyer. Elias paid for the Steele Memo in April 2016, then Reid wrote his Comey Russia letter in August. They were all in on the coup. Yes I talked to the FBI, Heller, Laxalt, everyone. They could be crushing Nevada right now. Have the DA speak.
No indictment, no crime.
I'm one of them.
New Mexico:
VBM returns
Democrats 66,989
Republicans 20,494
IPEV
Democrats 32,487
Republicans 40,855
Early Voting is 10/17 - 10/31
So 99k to about 61k?
Ah - thanks!
Just one day of IPEV and 40K Republicans voted?
Dang.
I believe ballotpedia.org had NM starting 10/17 for in-person but I think they actually started about a week ago. Need to absolutely confirm this though. McDonald has had in-person data on NM for about a week.
Correct. I believe someone could vote at some particular offices.
On 10/17 the voting expanded across the state.
Early Voting
Early voting begins in the office of the county clerks on Tuesday, October 6, 2020, and alternate early voting locations open on Saturday, October 17, 2020. Early voting continues through Saturday, October 31, 2020. Please check locations and hours of operation by visiting NMVote.org or by contacting your County Clerks Office.

Got it!
“New Mexico voters can also vote before Election Day. The early voting period runs from Tuesday, October 6, 2020 to Saturday, October 31, 2020, but dates and hours may vary based on where you live.”
“More voting locations are opening across New Mexico as the state expands early balloting in the lead-up to Election Day on Nov. 3.”
“Early in-person voting has been happening at county clerks offices. Starting Saturday (10/17), its easier to vote in person ahead of Nov. 3, with opening hours and locations varying by day and by county.”
“Just one day of IPEV and 40K Republicans voted?”
Sorry that was deceptive. The “expanded” early voting started 10/17. Early voting was already taking places at some particular sites.
It appears 12,814 voted yesterday in Bernalillo County (albuquerque).
I’ll see if I can find a state total for just yesterday.
“So 99k to about 61k?”
Yes for all voting through yesterday.
Well said. Right now it's about confirming conservative judges Pres. Trump will nominate in his second term.
One other quick NC nugget: 81.1% of early in-person voters voted in the 2016 General. Trying to find the party breakdown. Lots of cannibalization again.
My Politico tracker says 3.8 points.
