Donald Trump: I’ll Sign National Reciprocity (concealed carry) if It Reaches My Desk
BREITBART ^ | 15 October 2020 | AWR HAWKINS

During an interview with the NRA’s 1st Freedom, President Donald Trump said he would sign national reciprocity legislation for concealed carry if it reaches his desk.

The outlet posed the question:

Mr. President, each state’s driver’s license is honored across this great nation, yet a permit to carry a concealed gun — which, in contrast, is a right specifically protected in the U.S. Bill of Rights — is often not respected by other states. Will you support a national reciprocity act so that law-abiding gun owners can more easily travel with their freedom?

Trump responded by making sure the focus was on concealed carry permit holders crossing state lines, to which 1st Freedom said, “Yes.”

Trump then said, “I will support such legislation. If it comes across my desk I will sign it.”

Odd, I didn’t see where anyone was drafting any such legislation.

I do think I hear the sound of a little clickbait though.

Trump would need Congress to put it in front of him.

All the more important to ensure we are voting downticket Nov 3 accordingly.

Thanks for posting. Just think...the NRA won’t have to waste all of that moolah having to fight for our natural right to our life and its necessary corollary the right to defend our life. John Robert’s panties might be in a bunch though.

I hate it that I cannot carry as I travel. I can, of course, but it is a snake’s nest of contradictory rules, regulations, bureaucratic red tape, etc, so I never try to.

That’s when I think you would need to the most.

Open carry nationwide would be great, but...probably won’t happen in my lifetime.

Another reason to Vote for Donald Trump.
Best President Ever (after George Washington, of course)

Trump could have done this in the first year of his term when the Republicans controlled both the House and Senate. But he didn’t.

Would be nice but I won't hold my breath. We have property in in Nevada and Nevada does issue CCW for out of state residents. Wonder how CA would deal with that.

so if I’m licensed in FLA, can I go to, say, DC? or does it only apply to states/districts that have gun rights too?

Right.

As noted above, drivers licensees are reciprocal.

So my M-4 can ramble down any street in any state, right?

Wonderful (although it would be much better to abolish the unconstitutional infringements on Americans’ 2A rights).
wonderful and another great reason to keep campaigning hard for PDJT’s re-election!
