On Fridays PBS NewsHour, New York Times columnist David Brooks said that he is worried about how a lot of people will react if President Donald Trump loses the 2020 election because Theyll be completely flummoxed that this happened, and I dont know what reaction that will prompt.

There is not enough corn to pop for Election Night.
Yup, and that is exactly what is going to happen. The Left HAS to fake the polls. They have no choice. If the voters knew how badly Biden is going to get beaten, many wouldn’t vote, which would harm the down-ballot. They are in salvage mode now and will get nasty (nastier) after Trump wins on Election Day.
He’s afraid we’ll act like Democrats.
There is not enough corn to pop for Election Night.
They will take violence to the streets and say it is Trump supporters!
Since Trumps base is pro-business and pro-private property, theyre not going to burn down mom and pop shops, destroy the city center (paid for with their TAXES) or burn down Starbucks. They honor the rule of law, unlike the riotous Left. But, perhaps Brooks concern is really that there might be some out there who would find the media to be a suitable target for their angst in the case of a Trump loss. Hes just you know, asking for a friend.
This SOB needs to be dropped off in the middle of riots in a major city if Trump wins reelection. That would give him something to be afraid of.
I’m concerned how a bunch of Trump HATERS will act when he wins!
Yes, he should be concerned.
Look at all of the rioting, looting, burning, and killing weve done already.
Oh. Wait.
Radical Trump supporters will rampage by selling overinflated stocks, buying gold and silver, home schooling their children, buying up lots of long term storage food items, lots of guns and ammunition, and organizing into militias to drive away violent mobs that threaten them, their homes, and their businesses.
They will hire lots of laid off policemen to be private security personnel, who will be acting under civilian rules, not the excessive regulation of leftist governments.
The wealthier of the “Trump fanatics” will shift their investments into tax free bonds and buy up a lot of reliable foreign currencies that do not suffer in times of hyperinflation.
As the US enters a worsening spiral during the Biden years, these radical conservatives will at first insulate themselves, and if necessary, they will move, allowing the remaining mess to collapse in on itself.
Thats lying dog-face pony *soldier*.
Let’s be uber careful not to misquote our august former VP. Leaving out soldier altered the meaning entirely.
Well, I dont know how others will react, but if Trump loses I will certainly be paying more attention to the crease in my trousers.
Has Brooks expressed any concern about how Democrats and Left have been acting?
There is no concern here. This is the New York Times who print fake news freely. There has been no threat by President Trump or any of his supporters if he loses. This is just nonsense by David Brooks. If Trump were to lose, and he will not, he would leave the White House like the man he is and return to secular life. Just look back on the crap you have read in the New York Times recently and then judge this article with that as a background.
Yep, has some crazy 'crease' fetish, too.
Yea, but we will never again have a majority in either house of Congress; so elections in 2022 and 2024 will have limited meaning.
Ping.
Your answer is by far the best of the thread full of people salivating to play the “what if...” game. Kudos.
Gee, I believe James Carville and you both made this very proclamation in 2008!!
"we"... you're always good for a chuckle, Theo.
We will just take it like ADULTS, unlike Democrats, who would throws temper tantrum like a toddler...
