Months ago when some Hunter Biden stories came out I thought it would have no effect—as a parent of 3 young adult sons and a teen daughter, I’d be hopeful that the crap my kids do (and they do crap!) wouldn’t affect my career.
But my husband pointed out that now it all points to corruption and nepotism and influence by Joe Biden, and that the all the voters who are voting for Biden because he is pure and beyond reproach and free of scandal will see the first glimmer of the bloom off the rose, so to speak, and it will make all the Dem idealists, and seniors who think he is decent, stay home and not bother.

Your husband makes a valid point.
If this was just about Hunter Biden being a druggie lowlife it would have no effect. In fact it might generate sympathy for Joe, as many have experienced the painful fact that you have zero control over the bad decisions being made by an adult child.
But in this case the corruption links directly back to Joe. At best he allowed himself to be used as leverage for Hunter to extract these incredible amounts of cash. At worst he directly participated in the looting, selling out the country in the process.

Boy I forgot about the elderly. They offer me another time and place when a man’s character meant something.
That’s not completely true. A man’s character matters today but politicians today can survive scandals that would have destroyed anyone even 40 years ago.
I think I will hit the elderly. I am not a parent so it may affect parents differently than the way I see it.
Plus I’m a half a crook from New York city so I’m not the best person to ask :-)

(Tried a coup, a fake tax story, tramp slander, Russia nonsense, impeachment and a virus. They lost.)

Smart husband. There are many that hate Trump so bad they will never vote for him. However, they may end up throwing their hands in the air and staying home once they see how corrupt the Biden family is. This may have a pretty profound effect on "undecideds". They may never vote for Trump, but they very well may "decide" to not vote for either.
This may hit whatever there is of "Biden enthusiasm" pretty hard.
