NBC News will host a live town hall with Republican presidential nominee President Donald Trump, moderated by Savannah Guthrie, in Miami on Thursday, Oct. 15 at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT. During the one-hour town hall, Guthrie will moderate a conversation between President Trump and a group of Florida voters on critical issues impacting their vote less than three weeks before Election Day.
The event will take place outdoors at the Pérez Art Museum Miami in accordance with guidelines set forth by health officials and consistent with all government regulations. NBC News has been given a statement by Dr. Clifford Lane, Clinical Director at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), indicating that he and Dr. Anthony Fauci have reviewed the presidents recent medical data, including a PCR test collected and analyzed by NIH on Oct. 13, and have concluded with a high degree of confidence that the president is not shedding infectious virus.
Both Guthrie and the president will be at least 12 feet apart from both each other and the audience. The audience will also be socially-distanced and required to wear face masks while on the premises, answer a symptoms questionnaire and take a temperature check prior to entering the outdoor venue. Every NBC News staffer will be tested on site on the ground in Miami.
The town hall will follow the same format and will air in the time slot as NBC News town hall with Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden, moderated by Lester Holt, held last Monday, Oct. 5. In addition to airing on NBC, the primetime event will also air across MSNBC and CNBC, stream on NBC News NOW and be available in Spanish on Telemundos digital platforms.
Savannah Guthrie: Mr. President, will you admit now that your failure to take COVID-19 seriously has placed our entire country in jeopardy?
Trump: Well, Savannah, as you know, the plague came to us from China. And speaking of China, Hunter Biden...
Of course my DVR won't be tuned to ABC at all tonight.
Geesh. $100 to FR FReepathon if he does show.
He's going to show.
This is a Trump town hall. Biden isn’t invited.
a group of Florida voters = a group of angry democrat activists
Bwahahahahaha!!!!!!!
Biden is resting and Trump is in North Carolina showing his usual energy. C’mon man.
This will be the first time in years that I’ve had NBC tuned in.
It is what it is.
I question whether NBC has the guts to air this Trump Town Hall in the face of all the criticism and the potential for Biden to fall on his butt....again.
Savannah Guthrie: Mr.President, if by some chance you lose November 3rd what will you do? Will you have a job?
President Trump: I don’t expect to lose, Savannah, and being President of the United States has been the greatest honor of my entire life. As you know, I’ve worked all my life, I’ve never been out of work or had to rely on my father for full support, unlike Hunter Biden.....
Pretty much.
Yessir. They could ask him about what he likes on a cheeseburger or Melania’s favorite color, and he’ll find a way to work Hunter into his answer.
What I don’t get is why NBC scheduled this at the same time as the Biden town meeting on ABC. It should have been easy to schedule it directly after, which would allow voters/viewers to compare the two candidates. Different networks often coordinate football games to expand audiences rather than force fans to give up one game to watch another. But, the way they have scheduled things, at least it will show how many people watch which one. Personally, I’ll watch Trump and then switch to the end of Biden, and rely on highlight clips on-line (assuming there are any).
Was the Trump town hall arranged at the last minute? The DISH program schedule in Phoenix shows the Biden town hall, but not the Trump town hall.
I cannot set the Trump town hall as a single program on my DVR recording schedule. I bet that will impact the number of people watching.
That is what I plan to do!
Well played although I think you meant $100 if Biden does not show. Biden already proved he can stand on his feet for 90 minutes in the 1st debate.
