Several atheists have come out and opposed abortion. Their argument is that since this is all there is with no afterlife it is beyond cruel to deprive a person of their life for no reason beyond a bit of inconvenience.
The more we look at the universe the more we see that life is really scarce. Intelligent life even more so. Possibly the scarcest thing in the universe. That makes it rare and valuable.
