I would like to see the reaction to that. It just underscores how ignorant some people are.
There was an incident somewhere where a conference on options was taking place, and the placard mentioned “Black - Scholes” (the names of the two men who came up with the mathematics that make option trading possible). Well, some race baiters saw that and immediately jumped all over the crackers talking about “black schools.”
Whoops.
The first accusation is against Yelp itself for racist behavior. Who could then justify using an app that’s racist?
Of course, if somewhere is politically agnostic, I am happy to patronize it, and enthusiastically do.
But that is not what this article was about.
I do enjoy going to places that align with my values. When I was with the DC Chapter of Free Republic down in Washington after a counter-protest, we went to a cigar bar, and even though I don’t smoke, I enjoyed it immmensely. Probably the obverse of Menken’s observation “Puritanism. The haunting fear that someone, somewhere, may be happy.” which might be interpreted in my case as “Conservatism. The uplifting realization that some Leftist, somewhere, may be triggered and angry by my actions.”
Seriously, I did enjoy going to Mission BBQ in Nashville, and the apparently genuine appreciation by employees top to bottom, and enthusiastic corporate support for our military and LEO was an astonishingly nice surprise.
By contrast, there are places I won’t set foot in such as Starbucks and places like that.
My comments were, of course, tongue in cheek because there is no way on God’s Green Earth that Yahoo would ever incorporate suggestions like mine, but they sure incorporate those I oppose.
This is a very interesting reply - and one I agree with — any business in todays world is going to be labeled — it’s what the LEFT loves - but only their labels... your write-up encompasses all of it — and is a fair play for all...
If PRO-MILITARY - PRO 2A - that’s a place I would go... because the company inside such an establishment would be respectful and less tolerant of idiot child play... especially what is seen from the LEFT of late...
LOL, that hit me right on the funny bone!
See my post above regarding Misson BBQ. I wore my military cap in there, and from top to bottom, from the door greeter, to every single person serving food, to the people who bussed the tables...each and every one of them made eye contact, said thank you for serving or a similar sentiment, and appeared to genuinely value military and LEO. I was astonished.
They were young folks, too, but it didn’t look rote or coached up. I was very impressed, and vowed I would give them business any time I was able to do so.
That looked like leadership from the top down to me.
That is how a successful business is built and run.
I love Mission BBQ — I eat there when I’m down in C-Ville - plus they use to cater stuff at a local fort I was in up in NOVA! They are the best — the play the NATIONAL ANTHEM at NOON — and everyone had better stand ! (if they can)
Thanks for your service brother! I hope the military experience and what you did was a unique part of your life - mine set me up for all kinds of success. Be safe!
Someone that yelp accuse a business of racism should sue the living hell out of them in a conservative jurisdiction. Even if they win mostly, That would cost them money and aggravation. Repeat the process thousands of times.
And Hitler’s brownshirts. Night of broken glass. Blame it on Trump and conservatives instead of the Jews. We’re seeing it play out before our eyes. Hitler used it to replace the police with his thugs. Erase history, destroy a society to replace it.
These Big Tech fascists need to be hauled in front of Senate committees and waterboarded under the bright lights of the beltway theater. Instead, they have purchased the swamp and we get this.
Its like scrawling Juden on the window of a business. These people will never see themselves as they really are.
What’s a yelp? I used to have something called that on my phone but a few days ago I got rid of it forever. Oh right, I did that because they said they were enforcing a chinese social credit policy so they are dead to me forever.
I think that breakdown is actually helpful to the shooter. It shows the reporter (I guess... the guy in the BLM shirt anyway) getting in the face of the victim and a heated argument. The killer then steps in between and puts his hand (no gun drawn yet) on the victims chest to separate the two (sort of thing I'd expect a bodyguard to do) and gets a slap in the face in return. That's when he goes for the gun, after he was hit by the guy he ultimately shot.
It doesn't look like a politically motivated hit from those frames. Excessive force? Yup. Murder? He'll make a case that he feared for his life after the guy hit him and pulled mace. What a jury does with that is anyone's guess.
It is ironic that a guy who apparently supports BLM's war against cops defending themselves would end up shooting a guy to death and claiming self defense.
Yes...and thank you for your service.
My service to my country changed so many things for me, I have written about it many times here on FR...I feel a debt to this great country for giving me that privilege, teaching me lessons I likely would have taken far longer to learn on my own, and gave me a skill set intellectually that has served me my whole life. That is a debt I likely will never be able to repay.
Just one of the reasons I despise the Left, for their lies in slandering this country.
It was indeed a unique part of my life (I grew up in a career military family, so it was even a bigger part for me)
You know, I don’t listen to Mark Levin that often any more, since I do harbor some anger about what is going on, and he adds just a bit too much vinegar to the mix for me, so I only listen maybe once a week or so, but...I love it...just LOVE it when he plays the national anthem at the beginning now! It is like some kind of amulet that filters out the moonbats who might listen to cause problems or try to misconstrue what he says, a bit like garlic and vampires.
Those who can get past having to hear that terrible, racist, imperialistic piece of music are Liberals who might...just might have a chance to hear something that will make them into a better person...:)
The others are lost, and they weren’t coming along anyway.
I feel the same when I go into a place like Mission BBQ-if they turn around and walk away because people are standing and honoring the National Anthem at lunch, then I am glad of it-I don’t want them around polluting my airspace!
Nice talkin’ to you...:)
Sounds like an innocent business may end up owning Yelp.
Exactly.
I don’t necessarily trust online reviews...good ones are probably from staff, relatives and friends; bad ones are from competitors and staff, family and friends.
so - being a former LEO — I’ve had guys smack, punch, kick me in the face — and not once did I kill them.
This guys was untrained - despite the pepper spray — because I’ve used it as a level of force... this is what happens when a “want-a-be” buys a handgun with a laser of some sort on it - and then prides himself as a body guard...
So - the Navy Vet (victim) is arguing with the young black male (News guy?) — some other guy is in between them — then Mr. Body Guard approaches - gets smacked by Navy Vet - and that is his reason for ending his life...?
It does not matter who started the argument between Navy Vet and the young black male — then by standers walking in to keep separation, which did not work — a smack in the face occurs - and in the end, that alone is not justification to killing someone...
Mr. Body Guard - who is unlicensed - forged whatever paperwork to get hired — sealed his fate in committing fraud to place himself on that sidewalk on that day... that is what the jury will see & hear. He’s done!
The “FEARED FOR MY LIFE” will not work. The Navy Vet did not do anything that would be called life threatening. The only people shooting others are rampant Democrat Leftist that want to install fear. Their amateurish behavior will be their undoing.
In this situation - There was no cause to shoot - none from what I saw at various angles - & - the biggest thing that will work against Mr. Body Guard is that he is a fraud and should have never been there.
No, I didn't say that. He murdered the victim. I was saying that the tape indicates that he only pulled his gun after he was hit and a jury could find that important, especially if it's stacked with lefties. It helps his lawyers make a case because it takes the idea that he went there and hunted a trump supporter - which is 100% what went down in Portland - off the table. That was my only point
Write a review of YELP and say they are racist.
See how quick they take that down and ban you.
