It’s called Los Anchorage for a reason. The rest of us say that when you go to Anchorage, you leave Alaska. A-town is full of government workers, college kids, and welfare recipients. They overwhelm the decent people living there.
I can’t for the life of me figure out why ALL cities tend to go leftist. Must have something to do with being crowded together into a herd mentality.
Great news on 1 hand, and wait for the next commie to try to lock down A-town again, on the other. At least it seems like Jerkowitz is done politically, I hope.
People with the means to do so...good jobs, decent life, families...get away from the cities because they can. They are getting away from crime, drugs, rif-raf, noise and bustle. Those left in the cities don’t have the economic ability to get out...or likely the social desire to do so. Many become an underclass, fertile ground for the corrupt Democrats.

I don’t buy the stuck there because they’re poor argument. I’ve known a lot more poor people from the country than in the cities.
I do agree with the social desire part. Many people are fundamentally lazy. It’s easy to just sit back ad then demand a government does things for you. And when people are packed together in a confined space, it’s easier for government to “do” things. Maybe.
I lived in anchorage from 90-94. Was a pretty conservative town and state then. What happened?
