But as long we are exchanging anecdotal evidence, here is something I have noted. When someone dares to wear a Trump t-shirt or hat, I notice people walking up to that person giving a thumbs up or exchanging cautious cheers.
Exactly my experience when wearing a Trump hat. I dont wear it all the time and its more of a personal social experiment.
How many Trump signs were stolen? Vandalized?
How many Trump supporters are afraid to put out a Trump sign lest their home (or they) be targeted?
I was at Cape May, blue district in Blue State.
Some Biden signs, but not many.
What I saw was a Biden sign for every 15-20 houses with no signs.
If you try to predict who will win based upon the signs you see, you will be deluding yourself.
I’m not saying all the houses with no signs are for Trump, but there is reason to believe Trump supporters have been intimidated into not showing their support while all Biden supporters know they can cheer as loud as they want to with no repercussions.
See my post 22.
First it is Charlie "Crist" (no 'h') and he defines a swamp-creature here in Florida in my opinion. He has always been a professional office seeker and started as GOP in Pinellas County FL when it was strongly GOP. He went from the Florida Senate to Jeb Bush's Cabinet as Education Secretary then Attorney General and the succeeded Jeb as single-term GOP Governor.
Got on my wrong side when he almost kissed President Obama when 'O' promised the Tampa-Orlando High-Speed Rail in 2009. In 2010, he tried for the GOP US Senate but lost the Primary to Marco Rubio. He then made an 'Independent' run in that race but lost as #2 of the 3 main candidates.
Leaving the Governorship in 2011, he joined the Morgan&Morgan Law Firm (strongly Democratic) and in the 2012 Election Campaign, he was a speaker at the Democratic Party Convention in favor of President Obama as [Mitt Romney and the Republican Party] "pitched so far to the extreme right on issues important to women, immigrants, seniors and students that they've proven incapable of governing for the people."
In 2014, having changed his party affiliation to Democratic, he ran for FL Governor again but lost to Rick Scott (R) achieving the trifecta of losing a state-wide election as 'R', 'I' and 'D'! He did win the Pinellas County CD-13 US Representative race as a 'D' against ~R incumbent David Jolly in 2016. This was after redistricting that made the District majority 'D' in registration. Since then David Jolly has also left the GOP as an anti-Trumper. Crist won reelection in 2018 with 57% of vote and he voted yes on both articles of the Trump Impeachment.
Turncoat? YES!
Good post, BillyBoy.
No, Just making an observation. This is the area that James Carville said was “Alabama..”
“If Americans elect Joe Biden president, then I thank God that I am 81 years old, and am not long for this land”
I’m 78 and I couldn’t agree more.
