It’s Time To Get Real About November

Preaching to the choir is fun. It gets you a lot of “amens.” It makes a writer feel like they’re on to something when they write something their readers shower them with emails about how much they agree with them. It is also meaningless in the grand scheme of things. If all you do is tell people what they want to be true, you are doing them and whatever cause you care about a great disservice.

Given their choice, my kids would eat only chocolate ice cream and macaroni and cheese. Getting three and two-year-olds to eat vegetables requires the ability to sneak the vegetables into the few foods the kids will eat without a fight, and it’s the job of me and my wife to make sure we do it. When it comes to politics and adults, there’s no reason to sugarcoat the vegetables of life, so I’m just going to say it: Donald Trump stands a good chance of losing the election, and Republicans could be blown out of Congress.

It’s not a foregone conclusion, not close to a certainty, but it’s foolish to pretend otherwise. For the pundit class, there is no downside to proclaiming Trump will win. What is going to happen to them if they’re wrong? Absolutely nothing. Their columns will still run, their paychecks will still clear. If the president does win reelection, they can proclaim themselves soothsayers who “were the only ones who saw it coming.” But I promise you, they’re selling you something and not telling you something they know. Likely, it's not even something they believe.

I’m not telling you this to ruin your day. I’m telling you this to put a burr under your saddle. It’s easy to sit on the sidelines and wait. Rooting for an outcome isn’t enough this year. Posting to social media is nice, but it’s likely tuned out by people conservatives need to reach or, more likely, filtered out by left-wing social media billionaires and their millionaire army of flying monkeys hellbent on manipulating the public into a Democrat landslide. We’ve all got to do more, a lot more.

It’s not 2016. That $1 billion in free media candidate Donald Trump enjoyed then is not there for President Trump now. President Trump is the enemy of the outlets that elevated him, and half of Fox seems to now be against him too. That free time will not only be dedicated to Joe Biden, and all that remains will be spent smearing Trump.

If there’s one Republican who can fight off that hoard it’s Donald Trump, but he can’t do it alone. Every advantage that can be thrown his way, we must do. Every disadvantage that can be put in the way of the left must be, doubly.

In 2016, Facebook, Twitter and the rest were barely interested in politics. Now, it’s what they breathe. The battleground states remain, but the battlegrounds have changed, dramatically.

It’s not impossible, but it is nearly as close as one can get without being there. Complacency is the enemy of all that must be done to pull back from the precipice. A false sense of inevitable victory will breed complacency, which is why I’m critical of those spreading it.

There aren’t any days off between now and November 3rd. The Supreme Court nomination fight for Amy Coney Barrett starts today. And there are twenty trillion news cycles before all this is over. The crazy we’ve seen from the left in the last four years is going to look like a day in the park compared to the next three and a half weeks.

There will be good days and there will be bad days and bad news days, lots of them. Polls will tell you nothing but the media won’t shut up about them; they will be shouted from the mountain tops. There will be lies, lots of lies, and probably some more violence too.

Have no delusions about what’s to come or how it will end, no one has any idea whatsoever how it will end. We’ll find out if there is a silent majority or not. And we’ll have to fight for every inch of ground.

Don’t believe the people telling you they know what’s going to happen. It may make you feel good, but they have no idea. And they’re risking doing damage at a time when we can least afford it.

“But as long we are exchanging anecdotal evidence, here is something I have noted. When someone dares to wear a Trump t-shirt or hat, I notice people walking up to that person giving a thumbs up or exchanging cautious cheers.”

Exactly my experience when wearing a Trump hat. I don’t wear it all the time and it’s more of a personal social experiment.

How many Trump signs were stolen? Vandalized?

How many Trump supporters are afraid to put out a Trump sign lest their home (or they) be targeted?

I was at Cape May, blue district in Blue State.

Some Biden signs, but not many.

What I saw was a Biden sign for every 15-20 houses with no signs.

If you try to predict who will win based upon the signs you see, you will be deluding yourself.

I’m not saying all the houses with no signs are for Trump, but there is reason to believe Trump supporters have been intimidated into not showing their support while all Biden supporters know they can cheer as loud as they want to with no repercussions.

How is Charlie Christ a turn coat. What did he do?

First it is Charlie "Crist" (no 'h') and he defines a swamp-creature here in Florida in my opinion. He has always been a professional office seeker and started as GOP in Pinellas County FL when it was strongly GOP. He went from the Florida Senate to Jeb Bush's Cabinet as Education Secretary then Attorney General and the succeeded Jeb as single-term GOP Governor.

Got on my wrong side when he almost kissed President Obama when 'O' promised the Tampa-Orlando High-Speed Rail in 2009. In 2010, he tried for the GOP US Senate but lost the Primary to Marco Rubio. He then made an 'Independent' run in that race but lost as #2 of the 3 main candidates.

Leaving the Governorship in 2011, he joined the Morgan&Morgan Law Firm (strongly Democratic) and in the 2012 Election Campaign, he was a speaker at the Democratic Party Convention in favor of President Obama as [Mitt Romney and the Republican Party] "pitched so far to the extreme right on issues important to women, immigrants, seniors and students that they've proven incapable of governing for the people."

In 2014, having changed his party affiliation to Democratic, he ran for FL Governor again but lost to Rick Scott (R) achieving the trifecta of losing a state-wide election as 'R', 'I' and 'D'! He did win the Pinellas County CD-13 US Representative race as a 'D' against ~R incumbent David Jolly in 2016. This was after redistricting that made the District majority 'D' in registration. Since then David Jolly has also left the GOP as an anti-Trumper. Crist won reelection in 2018 with 57% of vote and he voted yes on both articles of the Trump Impeachment.

Turncoat? YES!

My guess is that a large number of those Biden signs were put up, not by individual voters, but by party operatives. A large number of Biden signs, if erected by homeowners, etc, would belie the universally-acknowledged “enthusiasm gap”. It’s simply an attempt by the party to dampen the spirit of Trump supporters. It ain’t gonna work. We’re marching to the polls and we’re going to restore America on 11/03/20 🇺🇸👍

“If Americans elect Joe Biden president, then I thank God that I am 81 years old, and am not long for this land”

I’m 78 and I couldn’t agree more.
