The White House is investigating the ATFs decision to increase regulation on Q, LLCs (Q) Honey Badger Pistol, and the agency is warning that other AR-15 pistols may be targeted as well.
Brietbart News reported that the ATF sent Q a Cease & Desist letter, dated August 3, 2020, announcing a reclassification of Qs Honey Badger Pistol as a short barrel rifle (SBR). This means the pistol now falls under the purview of the National Firearms Act (1934), as do machine guns, suppressors, and SBRs.
The ATF letter noted that two other Q pistolsthe Sugar Weasel and the Mini Fixmay also fall under NFA purview.

Repeal the NFA!
If I use a pistol with a stock, I can hit my target more efficiently than holding the pistol in one hand, without a stock to brace on the shoulder. So, why is it better to shoot less accurately? Why is it wrong to be able to hit what you aim at?
When I travel to Alabama to visit my family, there is a small convenience store in Autaugaville that sells... Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms. Love that place.
Its an interesting niche round. If you hit what youre aiming at, a 30-06 or .300 Win Mag pose no down-range danger. Are the woods really so heavily populated in the East/Mid-West? I assume there are plenty of horror stories about people being killed in accidents, hence the need for shotgun-only restrictions.
“Others”.
Dealers have been selling them like crazy here. (NY)
Wow. A rimless 357 Max.
I havent read about the .350 Legend before.
It sounds like a great cartridge and a fantastic idea for the AR platform.
I have two AR rifles. I may just have to re-barrel one of them for the .350 Legend.
Way more power than a .357 MAX.
The .350 Legend has enough power for deer, boar, and bear and can print sub MOA 100 yd groups all day long. All for less than $1 per round.
“I have two AR rifles. I may just have to re-barrel one of them for the .350 Legend.”
All you will need is a 350 legend barrel and a mag, which can be had pretty cheap I’m told.
About $150 for a 16” 350 legend barrel and mags are about $25.
Everything else is the same and you can swap them out easy peasy.
[[[Way more power than a .357 MAX.]]]
That’s debatable. I can get 1850 with 180’s and about 2000 with 158’s out of a 10” Contender barrel rechambered by Mike Bellm with a true rifle throat not the bowl throats typical to factory barrels. Add about 150-175+ for each load in a 14” barrel. Both loads are very accurate and safe. You are shooting the Legend out of rifle barrels.
I can see the utility of the legend in that it is a rimless round suitable for semi-autos. Hence its current popularity. A gent was making 35 caliber rounds for the AR-15 out of 223 brass at one time. This eliminates that tedious work for sure.
You can get 2300-2400 fps with a 170 gr softpoint with the 350 Legend.
The 357 MAX operates at a max pressure of 40,000, the .350 Legend operates at max pressures of 55,000 psi.
It’s no contest.
Why did you insult me?
My profound and heartfelt appologies for my unwarranted insulting remarks. They were uncalled for and I am truly sorry.
Thank you for the apology.
Water under the bridge.
Take care.
Looks like the ATF’s banking on a Biden win
Hey, its fun to play with ballistics tables. Couple hundred feet per second with a 10 grain heavier bullet maybe. Loaded right the Max can be quite the tack driver too.
Nothing new under the sun especially in 35 caliber. Even a 35 Rem. could get those ballistics. A game animal wouldn’t know the difference.
The biggest thing the legend has going for it is available bullets (which can now be used in the Max, 35 Rem, etc.), the industry latching on to it (for now) and a rimless case for semi-autos (read AR15s) in the “tactical everything” environment. Nothing wrong with that. Its fun and a new avenue for the hobby.
Just like the current 300 Whisper er, Blackout craze and pretending its a 308 Winchester.
“The biggest thing the legend has going for it is available bullets (which can now be used in the Max, 35 Rem, etc.),”
Nope, different bullet size.
350 Legend uses 9mm .355 rifle bullets, not pistol bullets.
You might cram .357 bullets in there but it’s not recommended.
Sometimes it ain’t a bad thing having two gun guys and hunters who just happen to be able to call the President of the United States.....Daddy.
No kidding.
Another F’ing arbitrary rule by ATF...
SBR law is to keep people from concealing a rifle? STUPID.
