A federal judge in Pennsylvania on Saturday threw out a lawsuit filed by President Donald Trumps campaign, dismissing its challenges to the battleground states poll-watching law and its efforts to limit how mail-in ballots can be collected and which of them can be counted.
The ruling by U.S. District Judge J. Nicholas Ranjan who was appointed by Trump in Pittsburgh also poured cold water on Trumps claims that Pennsylvania is fertile ground for election fraud.
Trumps campaign said it would appeal at least one element of the decision, with barely three weeks to go until Election Day in a state hotly contested by Trump and Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden.
The lawsuit was opposed by the administration of Gov. Tom Wolf, a Democrat, the state Democratic Party, the League of Women Voters, the NAACPs Pennsylvania office and other allied groups.
The ruling is a complete rejection of the continued misinformation about voter fraud and corruption, and those who seek to sow chaos and discord ahead of the upcoming election," Wolf's office said in a statement.
The state's attorney general, Josh Shapiro, a Democrat whose office fought the Trump campaign's claims, called the lawsuit a political stunt designed to sow doubt in the state's election.
We told the Trump campaign and the president, put up or shut up to his claims of voter fraud in Pennsylvania," Shapiro told The Associated Press. "It's important to note they didnt even need to prove actual voter fraud, just that it was likely or impending, and they couldnt even do that.

Wow, a Trump judge handed Trump a defeat. Was this a blue slip appt?
You should only have to prove that fraud is possible and preventable.
PA is going to be a fraud filled state.
The Trump campaign better deploy teams to video record these drop boxes 24/7.
They only need to catch one instance of fraud to throw all the ballots out.
He's U of Michigan, which has Commie leanings...
The interesting thing about this is that it's DIFFERENT than video recording a voting precinct from across the street.
THAT is a federal felony, and would be vigorously prosecuted by the Uniparty.
Don't know as they'd be able to go after you for video-taping a ballot dropbox...
We need 100 private eyes in Philidelphia to investigate and write reports for the inevitable lawsuit.
It sure didn’t take this judge long to switch his stripes.
BAD Trump appointment OMG!!!
If trump didnt even submit a brief, whats the judge to do? Seems like a stupid error. Trump should kick his lawyer in the Fanny.
“Don’t know as they’d be able to go after you for video-taping a ballot dropbox”
It can be done from a distance. If somebody dumps hundreds of ballots into the drop box it will be very obvious.
Trump will have a field day in the court battles after the election if he has video evidence.

Pennsylvania Ping!

FReepmail me to be added to the list.
The Senate confirmed him with 80 votes, so that should raise some red flags.
Is ballot harvesting allowed?
I recall there was a low number of republican poll volunteers and the party wanted to bring poll watchers from outside the Philly precincts. Sounded reasonable.
Not an error. I’m guessing that they were just testing the courts. They can’t prove that there will be fraud before the fraud happens.
The real battle will be after the election to throw all these ballots out.
The GOP Legislature can cancel all voting and have the GOP legislature select the Electors.
We told the Trump campaign and the president, put up or shut up to his claims of voter fraud in Pennsylvania,” Shapiro told The Associated Press.”
And they complain about President Trump’s words and tone.
‘The League of Women Voters’ who fought with Wolf and the DC’s against this are also a part of the Pres. Debate Commission.
I hope our guys nail Wolf!
