The news channel probably didn’t pay that well and they were picking up some Soros side money.
I worked part time at a local news channel about 18 years ago. Most of those guys made nothing. Some were 4 year media arts grads.
As for me, my main job in public TV land paid better. I only took a year long TV production training program.
