I’m hoping and praying that a lot of supporters are swimming under the polls this year.
Even that poll that showed Biden up by 12, when broken down, said that Biden “only” had 76% support among blacks and Trump had 15% support. That is astounding when normally Democrats enjoy 90% support among blacks. I honestly think more blacks than ever before will mark Trump on their ballots this year (partially due to Kanye). They would even more if the economy had not shut down and many lost jobs. It won’t be enough to turn the election, but it sure can’t hurt. And moving the needle by more than 10 percentage points is incredible.
We must remember that winning Florida, Ohio, and North Carolina are no longer enough because we have lost Colorado, Nevada, and Virginia. If we win Florida, North Carolina, and Ohio, we still need to win at least one big northern state or a combo of smaller states. We really need Pennsylvania (20 electoral votes) or Michigan (16 electoral votes). Barring Pennsylvania, Michigan would take us over 270. Barring both of those, God forbid it, we would depend on a combo of Minnesota (wishful thinking) and New Hampshire (probably wishful thinking) or a combo of Wisconsin and New Hampshire as a hail mary.
The days of landslide victories for R candidates are over. We are almost entirely dependent on the Electoral College now.
