Intelligence director provides more classified information to DOJ probe of FBI’s Russia investigation as critics say he is politicizing the material

Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe on Wednesday said he had approved the release of almost 1,000 pages of materials to the Justice Department as part of an investigation of the FBI’s probe of Russian election interference in 2016....

On Tuesday, Ratcliffe declassified a heavily redacted set of notes written by Brennan that appear to show he briefed President Barack Obama in 2016 on intelligence the U.S. had obtained from Russian sources, indicating that Hillary Clinton had approved a plan to try to tie the hacking of Democratic emails by Russia to the Trump campaign.

This seems to be one of the most factual articles from the WP I've seen. It's missing the usual buzzwords like "no evidence", "unproven", "october surprise", etc.

Gee, has there ever been an action that has not had ‘critics’, especially when done by, or on the behest of, a conservative?

It’s a positive sign that they are covering it at all.

They are hedging their bets, lest the story finally get traction outside of the conservative world, and they look like fools for ignoring the undoing of the hoax they helped create.

The critics say...

To Hell with the critics that promoted spying, judicial persecution, impeachment.

Those #s attempted to overturn our vote. Warrants capital consequences.

NYT did an almost identical article.
Ratcliffe is releasing stuff out of context.
it’s just political to try to influence the election.

where is the major FakeNewsMSM coverage of the Brennan notes? it should have been the top story worldwide. in Australia - and on what BBC radio I’ve heard - there’s nothing.

The Compost is right, Radcliffe is politicizing the material...and, so he should...

The American people need to understand what Obama’s FBI, CIA, and other alphabet government groups did to President Trump...

.....BEFORE the election....

.....Indictments and executions to follow the ELECTION....

....for their TREASON....

Now Democrats are not even embarrassed when they accuse the administration of politicizing truth.

Just damn.

The word “hoax” makes it sound somewhat humorous. “Russia Hoax” is even more misleading as the criminal conspiracy was not perpetrated by the Russians, but by the Obama/Biden administration in league with traitors in our DOJ and CIA.

Somehow, the voice of the critics do not make it into the headlines of articles that are positive for the Democrats.

I agree.

And if Biden wins, it all gets swept under the rug.

Brennan and Comey could get their old jobs back, and go out for revenge, fully empowered and knowing there are no longer any restraints at all.

one NYT example, but not the one I referred to:

1 Oct: NYT: Brennan Rebuffed Requests to Lower Confidence in Key Russia Finding
The revelation that the former C.I.A. director sided with analysts over senior officers, contained in his new book, has been a focus of the Justice Department review of the Russia inquiry.
By Julian E. Barnes
WASHINGTON — The former C.I.A. director John O. Brennan disagreed with the recommendation of two senior officers in early 2017 who wanted to override intelligence analysts’ determination that the agency had high confidence in one of its major judgments in the assessment of Russia’s 2016 election interference: that President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia tried to help Donald J. Trump by discrediting Hillary Clinton.

The revelation by Mr. Brennan in his new book, “Undaunted,” will probably fuel additional Republican criticism of the intelligence agencies’ findings. But Mr. Brennan defended his actions, saying he was affirming the determinations of the analysts steeped most deeply in the intelligence, not intervening for political reasons.
“I didn’t change a single analytic judgment in that intelligence community assessment,” Mr. Brennan said in an interview that is set to be broadcast on C-SPAN’s “Book TV” in the coming days...

On Tuesday, Mr. Ratcliffe released small portions of previously classified reports in an apparent bid to help the president politically. The material was unverified and suggested that Russian intelligence had acquired information that Hillary Clinton had approved a plan for her 2016 campaign to “stir up a scandal” against Mr. Trump by tying him to the Russian hackers who had broken into Democratic servers.
One of the snippets released by Mr. Ratcliffe included a reference to handwritten notes by Mr. Brennan, who wrote that he had briefed President Barack Obama on the information about Mrs. Clinton.

Mr. Brennan sharply criticized Mr. Ratcliffe’s “disturbing release of selective information.”...

posting the following as it has lots of links worth noting. excerpts posted show, once more, just how deeply NYT/WaPo were/are involved in the the Russiagate/Coupgate scandal:

8 Oct: Antiwar.com: Former Intel Officials Try To Downplay Ratcliffe’s Russiagate Releases
by Dave DeCamp
The blog Moon of Alabama found Clinton campaign manager Robby Mook appearedon CNN on July 24th and made what was possibly the first allegationthat Russia had “hacked” the DNC in support of Trump. Mook made theclaim with no evidence, citing unnamed “experts.”...
As Bernhard put it at Moon of Alabama, “Mook’s TV appearance wasprobably a test balloon raised to see if such claims would stick.” Andstick they did.

The following day, TheNew York Times published a story that said, “the Russian-interventionnarrative fits with Mrs. Clinton’s efforts to establish the idea that PresidentVladimir V. Putin of Russia wants to see Mr. Trump elected to weaken Americaand hurt its closest NATO allies.”

Inan interview on July 26th, 2016 (WaPo LINK), President Obama alluded to theidea that Russia “hacked” the DNC to help Donald Trump. “Whatwe do know is that the Russians hack our systems, not just government systemsbut private systems,” Obama said. “What the motives were in termsof the leaks, all that – I can’t say directly. What I do know is that DonaldTrump has repeatedly expressed admiration for Vladimir Putin.”...

A big part of the reason for all the attacks on Trump is to try to make sure that no other outsiders even attempt to enter the swamp. The swamp does not want anyone interrupting their elite lifestyle and ability to have their families profit enormously from nearness to them.

Brennan and Comey should have their memories erased at Gitmo before being released back into the general public.
