A day after President Donald Trump left the hospital and urged Americans not to be afraid of COVID-19, the head of the White House’s coronavirus task force avoided directly criticizing or even commenting on the president’s latest actions and comments as she visited a New Jersey university on Tuesday.

But during her appearance at Rowan University in Glassboro, Dr. Deborah Birx did urge students — and Americans in general — to keep making sacrifices and changing behaviors to help protect against new surges in the fall.

The first time she was Speaker of the People's House and "We the People paid for the Boeing 747" and this plane was stocked with liquor like we have not seen and "We the People paid for all this extravagant liquor" and Miss Pelousy has the best staff paid for by "We the People paid for her mixed drink bar staff" and this woman Miss Pelousy got away with it.

Closer to around 250,000 looking at the excess mortality numbers for 2020. We missed a lot of COVID-19 deaths earlier on when we had no idea what it was and didn’t have any reliable tests for it.

Problem is we’ve only got about 10% of the US population exposed to it. With an R0 of 2.5, that means herd immunity is likely about 60% (1-1/R0), which means we’re roughly 1/6th of the way through this. A safe and effective vaccine is around the corner and every inoculation brings us one closer to herd immunity with no risk of a death.

Hopefully so, but an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. We should be attacking this thing on all fronts: slowing its spread with *reasonable* measures (i.e. NOT shutting down the economy), developing treatments to help people who become infected to recover, and finishing up work on safe and effective vaccines that put an end to all of this.
