President Donald Trump said Tuesday he has told his administrations negotiators to end coronavirus stimulus talks with Democrats until after the Nov. 3 election.
The declaration, if the White House follows through on it, would halt an ongoing push to send trillions of dollars more in relief to Americans as the outbreak rampages through the U.S. and the economy struggles to recover from virus-related shutdowns. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi spoke for an hour about a relief package on Monday and planned to talkagain Tuesday.
I have instructed my representatives to stop negotiating until after the election when, immediately after I win, we will pass a major Stimulus Bill that focuses on hardworking Americans and Small Business, Trump tweeted on Tuesday.
The president added that he has asked Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell to focus full time on confirming Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett.
Investors punished stocks in response to Trumps tweets. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell more than 300 points, about 1.1%, in the minutes following the announcement.

She will never see the money because the election will contested for months. Shw screwed to cute Nancy.
Dems keep states shut down, schools shut, bars and restaurants shut. Disney lays off CA. 28,000 workers,
Airlines 20,000, Vegas Casinos layoffs because their Dem
Gov. Sissy Boy won’t let them open.
So Trump is just making Dems feel the heat with their own tactics, its a smart move, and he starting blaming Nasty Nancy last week.
She must be getting paid by RNC, these Disney people are LiB dems , Teachers Dems, movies Dems, and the Vegas jobs
are Culinary Union jobs.
Maybe Nancy’s own district will kick her out.
Very bold tactical move, like the Latvian Gambit in chess.
Go POTUS!
Exactly. Besides...doesn’t he have the ability to release at least some funds via executive order in an emergency?
This makes no sense whatsoever.
I see now.
I have followed stocks for decades, this is the quarter where we usually have best results. Just before election day I predict 20 percent growth.
Red states are pretty opened up and since Blue states are crime ridden, and economic disaster zones places like my state FL. and TX. are experiencing an economic boom driven
by ex Blue staters looking to buy or build homes in our states.
Lib states can’t do anything right and they are so over leveraged with debt they can’t borrow more.
Nancy ate Icecream while CA. burned.
You got to know when to hold em, know when to fold em, know when to walk away.. know when to run.
It’s amazing how Biden, the democrats and even those that support them all cry that it’s too soon to open up the economy from one side of their mouth yet on the other side they accuse Trump of destroying the wonderful economy Obama/Biden had left them.
THIS must be countered with the truth over and over again by ALL republicans and not just Donald Trump. The media is silent.
Good positive and realistic outlook you posted.
But remember some of those ex Blue staters looking to buy or build homes in red states also plan on voting blue in those states. That’s the downside.
I think not, they don’t want to live where their money is confiscated, they know that.
I never met a person who came from a communistic country
who ever wants it in the great USA. They know the privilege it is to be free of socialists.
I once lived in NJ, NY, and PA and when I moved to no tax
NV. and for work TX. and now retired if FL. all free of state taxes I can say you live and learn a better way.
Yes some libs can’t learn, it is a mental handicap, but
I think money talks real loud and people who want to keep
their own money listen and will vote with us.
Words are changeable but Trump did specifically say negotiations were off until after his reelection.
I believe it could be titled “Calling Their F****** Bluff”, or “Chess versus Checkers”. Nancy’s been had.
My pleasure.
Lets take back the House and Hagatha can finally retire from politics
Well...you got that one right.
