Alaska really surprised me.
We had a friend from Rhode Island staying at our house in New Hampshire a couple weeks back for five days.
On the 3rd day she received a text on her phone from the state of RI inquiring where she went out of state.
Big Brother was watching.
After a week of commuting to the job since I am just a lowly IT grunt, I don’t have any desire to go much of anywhere.
State employees need something to do since they don’t do the jobs we pay them to do.
My family in ct asks me when I’m coming to visit..
“I can’t. It’s against the law”
Hey man, my state has no restrictions. Yours does. Consider that at tax time.
I’m surprised there aren’t any restrictions in California. Any reason that excludes states like Texas from travel suits Sacramento just fine.
I am up in rural NYS, near Canadian border. Generalissimo Cuomo (self-absorbed ahole - NY), after throwing a hissy fit 6-months ago when Maine threatened to stop cars with NY plates at the border, now he has his imbecilic (and illegal) quarantine edicts for people landing at NY airports. Two months ago I returned from the LI/NYC area to my rural western NY home, coming from an area with 100-times the infection rates, I wasnt required to quarantine. But last month I retuned from an area (rural NC) with 1/10 the infection rates of my area, and Im expected to quarantine. And Im not quarantining.
This puke just wants to look like hes doing something useful after his brilliant nursing home move.
A hunting guide in Canada posted that hunting camps (his is in the Yukon territory) are required to post warning signs re: COVID (”what does physical distancing look like”) on each cabin. He actually had health officials helicopter in to check one of his camps.
The wife and I were there 3 weeks ago. We had to be COVID tested w proof when we arrived at the airport in Anchorage. The young kids getting off the plane were clueless to the regs. They herded us through tables of people who interviewed us and asked for our papers. Contract tracing was ongoing at all restaurants and etc.

Follow these instructions as you want. I travel extensively. I don’t go to Hawaii or Alaska because it is so far away and I don’t want to chance being turned around. States are not putting enforcers on the border and are just hoping to catch air travelers. These negative tests required are stupid. First, it often takes more than 72 hours to get a test result. Second, as the President’s case proves, you can test negative in the morning and positive in the evening. It’s all theater. In Texas, you can now go visit your relative in the assisted living facility if you have a negative test in the previous 2 weeks. That is just stupid. SMDH
Why isn't the general subject of lockdowns and basic Constitutional rights (US Constitution) before SCOTUS at this very moment??????
The restriction lists appear more political than epidemiological.
AAA has a good map of travel restrictions by state, just click on the state from the map.
Thousands of people travel between states here by the waterways n nobody check
em aha.
Many states are ruled by the stupidest people on the planet.
Won’t let me read the article unless I create an account to the NYT and log in (which isn’t going to happen).
I traveled (drove) from New York State to Indiana in August to visit my youngest son. I stayed overnight in Ohio. No restrictions other than masks upon entering, both the hotel and restaurants I went to. I have no reason to go to any other states at this point in my life.
For the states that indicate you must “self-quarantine” for x number of days (usually 14), what exactly does that mean, and how is it enforced? What happens if you don’t?
