HUNT COUNTY, Texas (CBSDFW) Shaun David Lucas, the Wolfe City police officer allegedly connected to the shooting death of Jonathan Price was arrested and charged with murder.
His bond was set at $1 million.
Price, 31, was shot and killed outside a Wolfe City gas station on Saturday.
Described as a hometown hero, standup guy, and mentor who worked with children, most who spoke out publicly about Price said they cant see any reason why a police officer would shoot and kill him.
But thats exactly what happened on Saturday, after Price allegedly stepped in to help a woman out of a domestic violence situation. Things escalated between Price and her abuser, but had calmed down, according to witnesses by the time police arrived.

Officer Lucas attempted to detain Price, who resisted in a non-threatening posture and began walking away. Officer Lucas deployed his TASER, followed by discharging his service weapon striking Price. EMS was notified and Price was transported to Hunt Regional Hospital, where he later died.
Orwell would be proud.
Well, so far this looks like the proper action. Then again, this is the first I’m hearing about this. When I first heard about the Zimmerman/Martin case, I thought a white cop wannabee shot an innocent black kid in cold blood. Facts changed my view.
We’ll see what happens here.
That is a weird chain of events. Why are people walking away from cops who try to detain them. That’s just weird.
Ok. Wait a year for the lie to go around, then maybe we’ll find out what really happened.
Because they know the police have little to no support.
The story is so typical of such poorly written copy that it’s impossible to determine what actually happened. What I do know though is that when the Amish start declaring that the victim was some sort of saint that hip waders become necessary.
We still don’t know the whole story.
At any point, did the deceased resist arrest or give the impression that he was refusing to follow lawful orders of the arresting cop?
Resisting Arrest Matters = R.A.M.
Looks like a case of Shaun shooting Jonathan at a gas station.
I have seen stories that a lot of people really admired him.
This is the root cause of many of these situations.
Even Tucker Carlson seems not to appreciate that. He was reporting on the woman at a children's sports event who refused to put on a mask. She ended up resisting arrest.
Tucker focused on the injustice of the mask mandate and compeletely ignored her defiance of law enforcement. Tucker did a disservice to his audience by failing to criticize the woman's judgement.
I don’t know if it was a good shooting with the limited information we have. I don’t see anything about a physical altercation between the dead guy and the officer. The statement by Texas Rangers makes it seem like he shot the guy while he was walking away from him. I guess we have to wait for more details to come out.
Maybe he was a good guy and this cop is a psycho. But it’s hard to tell anything from the terrible copy. Where do they find these “journalists”? And the “editors”.
Yep. You fight this stuff in court. Well, adults do.
But Tucker is not perfect. Like the rest of them, he needs to stir up controversy to keep people watching.
I have to confess that on my 3 hour commute I would watch “yesterday’s” Tucker and Laura shows, but now that I’m WFH, I’ve only seen a couple of snippets of either of them since March. And the only time I’m ever here or focusing on political stuff is when I’m attending online meetings (a lot of them) where I have very little need to even be there.
Otherwise I’m busy with other stuff. And with this property, my new garage that needs to be finished inside, fixing the deck, the driveway, etc., I have plenty to do.
I’ll vote and let the rest of you figure this stuff out after the Civil War.
It was imperative that I drive the guns and ammo (many thousands of rounds) from my father’s house in Seattle last week. He died a few months ago at 90 and this was a cleanup of the stuff that was not “airliner friendly”. It was a nice drive, but clearly risky. The tail was draggin’ on our car, but we made it back with no problems. And we do feel a bit more secure...
Yep. So far it does not look good for the Officer, though.
I wonder what Chick Bowdrie would have done?
Well, that sounds stupid to me...and it also sounds like the author is going out of the way misdirect by describing the moment as vaguely as possible. Did the cop attempt to cuff him and get brushed off? That'll get you tazed or tackled I don't care who you are.
Stand up guy. Good guy, good guy.
Yeah, sure thing. What’s his rap sheet like?
Can we FOR ONCE say, “Let’s give the good guy the benefit of the doubt, and the guy with a mile-long rap sheet, not.”
He might surprise you if the pursuit is of a donut truck.
