She’s not thinking short term. She’s saving for WHEN she’s old enough to have a driver’s license. She and Callie have been raised on Dave Ramsey’s method of saving. I gave my son that book while he was in the AF. I had gone to see Ramsey in person, and thought it might help him since he had college bills to pay.
I thought he’d look at it, roll his eyes at his mom’s choice, put it on the bookshelf and that would be the end of the story, but little did I know. He has been debt free for years! He struggled to do it, but he with his wife’s help have succeeded and they are teaching the girls the same lessons. I’m very proud of them.
And thanks. The girls are very special to us. Just wish they didn’t live so far away, darn it.
I wasn’t saying Piper thinks short term. Callie is who I was referring to. Piper’s obviously thinking ahead. I didn’t even think about cars or driving when I was her age.
Dave Ramsey’s show was on the Nashville talk radio station for a long time and I tried hard to get Hubby to pay attention to what he said, but no luck there. “Beans and rice and rice and beans” isn’t easy but it does pay off in the long run. Bravo to your son for pulling it off.
It’s a shame they moved so far away and you can’t see them as often as you used to. :-(
