Pennsylvania manufacturer thrives, if only it can find good workers

The implication there are no willing or capable workers in the United States is severely flawed.

Not really. Anecdotally, I have a friend who owns an auto shop. They work on race vehicles and custom rebuilds, they do engines, drive train, fabrication, interior work and painting. The guys is good and is used quite a bit by local used car dealers, (it pays the rent). He is always busy, but has to turn away work. He cannot find good help, especially a fabricator or painter. He tried a couple of people they were decent fabricators or painters, but they did not work out. They came and went as they pleased. He tried offering partnerships, you rent space in his shop he funnels you busy work from dealers, plus you can take on your own jobs. They would of had plenty of work and could take on some of the sexy jobs like custom rebuilds. The people he tried to bring in did not want to do that either. He complains he just cannot find good help and nobody seems to want to learn.

Some are willing but not capable others are capable but not willing.
