Mexico on Friday ordered the military to deploy along its southern border to block a migrant caravan that President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador suggested was linked to the US election.
Thousands of mostly Honduran migrants were traveling through Guatemala, heading for the United States via Mexico, just weeks before a tense US presidential vote in which immigration is a key issue.
“It seems very strange to us. It’s very strange that this caravan leaves on the eve of the election in the United States,” Lopez Obrador told reporters.
“It has to do with the election in the United States. I don’t have all the elements but I think there are indications that it was put together for this purpose,” he added.
The migrants, mostly young men, surged across the border from Honduras into Guatemala on Thursday despite restrictions linked to the coronavirus pandemic.
Many were not wearing masks to protect against the spread of infection.
Some returned to their country after the Guatemalan government ordered them to be detained and deported.
Mexico will deploy hundreds of military and immigration personnel to its border to prevent the caravan entering the country, a senior government official said.
“They’re not going to cross,” Francisco Garduno, the head of the Mexican migration authority, told reporters.
Garduno said the migrants must “respect the immigration law.”

I've been watching this for thirty years now. I've worked in the home building industry as well as the health care field.
Mexicans were the first to figure out that they didn't need to work. They learned that if enough of them used multiple ids and crammed into a single house they could have at a minimum half a dozen welfare benefit accounts. The more enterprising among them would work off the books while their baby mamas got welfare all the while sucking the American taxpayer dry. Seems some people here have short memories. I don't. I know damn well what Mexico has been doing for the last three decades here. Flooding into our communities, waving their damned buzzard rag flag, demanding everything under the sun and having no shortage of Americans for a number of selfish interests willing to be their advocates. Now Mexico has been threatened by an American president with balls that if they don't stop these cockroaches from coming in here there will be a price to pay. Screw Mexico.

Neither am I. Troops from a failed narco state, what could go wrong? We can deploy troops around the world to defend borders, but not our own. Does that sound about right. Hundreds of Ohioans have been killed by illegals going on decades now. Who is the real enemy here.

The fact of the matter is if Mexico ever truly goes under there will be a human tidal wave across our southern border like nothing ever seen before. It will be the end of America.

This new caravan has been timed to hit our borders and cause chaos around election time.
We need to use some sort of defense to permanently deter this crap once and for all.
And track down whoever or whatever is funding these caravans and deal with them.

I am surprised how many Mexicans are conservative. In Mexican culture conservatives take a beatdown from the communistas who are mostly women so the men keep a tight lid on it to avoid fighting in the family
