Like the President, I know almost nothing about Proud Boys, except what I've heard in the past few days.
For all I know, they are Mother Teresa's helpers (in the old days we'd say "a bunch of boy scouts", but can't use that expression any more!).
However, Democrats treat Proud Boys as if they fall into Chris Wallace's categories of "white supremacists and right wing militia groups", and when Wallace demanded Trump tell them to "stand down", Trump's response to Biden's words "Proud Boys", Trump saying "stand back and stand by" has driven Democrats nuts and exposed fair-weather Republicans for what they are.
