For example, I have plenty of viruses in my body from traveling and working in various third world countries in my lifetime, and I feel as healthy and strong as ever.
Most people with coronavirus don't even know they have it because they are feeling great, they develop anti bodies and just get on with their lives. No symptoms, no sickness.

Nope. This little October surprise just really hurt his chances. Many moderates are very upset regarding how the handling of the virus response has been.
But...he isn’t the first world leader to get it either. My concern is his age and other age related conditions.
Thinks I’d like to know or be able to take solace in:
*Prayers work and God’s Plan
*Trustworthy and loyal Doctors and Nurses
*Mike Pence is now a the helm of our nation, I hope he’s able to lead
On going concerns:
*Biden may get it and Trump will be blamed for spreading it during the debate (asymptomatic)
*Was something contaminated at the debate. Cleveland is after all a Democrat stonghold with lots of medical folks/students who would know how to assure spread (tin foil)
*Pelosi, Pelosi, Pelosi
and if the worst should happen...God forbid it...

I’ve been looking. Unable to confirm which test was used. But the results came back in a short time frame so that limits the one(s) it could be.
Having said that, Trump has been working exceptionally hard, with long hours.....I think this would tend to deplete his immune system.
So watch out for for other illnesses that might complicate the issue for someone of Trumps age.
Without knowing the number of cycles on the PCR, a positive test could simply indicate exposure.
Some additional info would be nice.
