It’s now already happened. NBC broke into regular programming with a special report and that was precisely the narrative - even stated Trump was a “COVID19 denier.”
Also declared that all campaigning for both campaigns is essentially over for the remainder of the election season because Trump was probably contagious during the debate and that Biden will now himself also have to be quarantined as was as the Vice President.

Does it hurt? Yes, from the standpoint of the media now being able to return to playing up Covid panic like it was March. And they will play it up like it was March. Trump will be stuck in the White House and not be able to get out and counter their narrative for two weeks. They will now talk about his rallies as having endangered the public.
Get ready for COVID mania again.
Then again, if he doesn’t get symptoms and emerges it changes the ballgame again. He can then slam the media for creating panic and say, I got it, I recovered, relax.
It will be interesting to watch the GOP Senators and what they do. Will they now go squishy on Barret?
