Gathering limits are back in Pennsylvania, at least for now, following the latest federal court ruling on the topic.
What does it mean for schools that host high school football games or other such events Friday night or this weekend?
Pa. Gov. Tom Wolfs advice is to stay tuned.
The 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals said Thursday that the Wolf administrations coronavirus mitigation gathering limits -- 250 people at outdoor events and 25 at indoor ones -- are back in play again while the appeal process works itself through the court system. The news comes after U.S. District Judge William Stickman IV said in mid-September that the gathering limits were unconstitutional.
Stickman IV later denied the Wolf administrations request for a stay on that ruling, leading to an appeal to the circuit court and the most recent decision.
I keep working with the schools, Wolf said. "We have to recognize we have a virus out there. That virus is out to get us, and so we have to be careful about how we gather together, and I think thats the important thing.
At the same time, weve got to make sure that were being reasonable and realistic about how we do things. Im doing everything I can listening to folks, and continue to change as I did with restaurants, and well continue to look and make sure that the guidelines we have in place are reasonable.
Its unclear when new guidance could come from either Wolf or the Pa. Department of Health. He noted during a news conference that today is Thursday when asked about what the courts decision means for Friday night football.
Right now, were back to the 250, but as I say, Im working right now with school districts and others to do what we can to recognize the contexts that are different in every community, Wolf said.
Stay tuned, were working on it as we speak.

Requesting permission to add to “breaking”
When did they go away?
instead of responsible adults sitting in the open air in a stadium spread out we will all be packed together in a few corners trying to watch our sons play one of a handful of games. It is outrageous! The cops will probably show up and make us leave. I am sick and tired of this bull crap.
And demand a Few bailout and launder the $$$.
Like Wolf is the authority.
Wolf’s 25 indoor/250 outdoor limitation s on gatherins (other than BLM protests) have been in place since the scamdemic began (tighter back then) and were “relaxed” to there levels in June.
Two weeks ago US Judge Strickman (Western PA district) ruled them unconstitutional on First Amendment grounds. Wolf wanted the Judge to stay his ruling pending appeal.
Now the Third Circuit has granted Tommie’s wish.
On again, off again, on again.
Sucks.
They're no doubt "Working on" a way to make the schools the bad guy by having issuing unenforceable, but innuendo and implication filled threats sometime around the end of the school day on Friday.
naked emperor!
Tom Wolf...an obedient coward whose chief goal is a position in the Harris Adm. PA be damned. Will also consider all other offers.
Every High School stadium should be the site of a “peaceful protest” tomorrow.
“Fed”.
These governors are a bunch of insecure, egotistical, micro-managing morons. Especially clueless.
Not about schools or games... Wolf wants to prevent further Trump gatherings....it’s that simple...Pa is in play and Bidens not doing well here.

The Furor has spoken
SIEG HEIL!!
SIEG HEIL!!
Fight for your freedom! Ignore the skin-headed twits orders and go to a local high school football game tomorrow night.
I think this is all about limiting Trump campaign rallies. I think Tommie the Commie is going to essentially look the other way during HS Football contests.
I heard that there is no more COVID in Pennsylvania, so Biden is sending out people to canvass for the election.
Maybe, but pussy school board types will follow Wolf’s words to a T, cause outta fear of being sued from $$$ grubbing libs who want to send a msg or see a big payday, if someone contracts this virus.
